How clueless am I? I'm just curious what others think is going on here....

Quick Background: My job is to travel and take inventories in a retail chain throughout the Midwest. Today was no different than the rest except....

Today I met this man at my job and we had time to chat about various things while I was in his store. He is a young guy, just turned 22 but appears to be more mature. During the course of our chatting, he brings up that he no longer has a girlfriend and that he lives alone. He also point blank asked me about the dating scene, my last date, if I had any hobbies and a few other topics. After chatting awhile he says "it seems we have a lot in common."

Now, I'm not necessarily attracted to him or anything and because of my line of work in relation to his, I couldn't date him if I wanted to. However, my question is.......based on what info I've given here, do you think he was showing interest in me or was he just being nice? I guess I'm asking this because I've always considered myself oblivious to when a guy is showing interest.

Bah... we're all clueless, sometimes I'll guess that a chick likes me and I'll be all wrong. Other times I miss all the signs and assume the chick doesn't like me at all... and then find out later she did. As for myself... I guess the way I act when I like a chick doesn't help. I'm so shy that I act like I don't notice her (oh yah that's the best way to get a chicks attention... NOT). *bangs head against desk*

Yeah, he was definitely interested. That's quite a bit of personal info to fit into one quick convo.

I don't know that there's anything wrong with being clueless. It might even weed out the lazy guys and only expose you to the ones who are REALLY interested and will go to great lengths to make it known to you.

I'm usually quite dense when it comes to these sort of things, too. However, as an outsider looking in, so to speak, I would think because of all the inquiring questions about your personal life that there's some sort of interest.

Because of your job, you need to find out what's behind all of these questions. If there isn't anything that you want to persue, I would nip it in the bud before anything more happens.

for what its worth. My opinnion is that he is showing interest. But be warned its alot of info in one short talk. Be careful he is on the rebound. still hurting after the disappointment. I will agree with statement about snakes. We are also fishermen we like to do a lot of casting to see whats out there.

Thanks for all of your posts. They've pretty much summed up what I've thought about the situation. I was in 'his store' for 6 hours that day so there was plenty of time for a lot of conversation. Most of what I mentioned previously occured early in the day though. I guess that's what I found a little weird. Of course, he 'blamed' his discussing 'personal' stuff such as dating, etc.. on the fact that the tv in the store had the Game Show Network or something like that on and The Love Connection was on. lol!! For me, the 'red flag' went up when he made the comment about us 'having a lot in common.' I haven't had any communication with him since last week but as for the 'work' I don't generally. I do the inventories once every 3 or so months. I guess it'll be interesting to see what may or may not transpire between now and then. As for men being snakes as mentioned by someone here....yeah, I've seen that side! lol!!
