Not true. I strongly suspect the 5th dimension is real. Basically, this is no more fictional than the idea of time traveling, which is an issue actively explored by many scientists/engineers. People won't put $$$ into this endeavor if it is pure fictional.

Why do we talk about it? For this thread, because it is an easy way out for the Joshua's Long Day.

You are allowed to believe anything you want, including that a 5th dimension exists.

That does not mean a 5th dimension exists. It might, but we don't know.

Actually an easier way out would be to admit the claim of Joshua's long day is not something that can be confirmed using science and logic.

Again, you do not have a clear idea on what logic is. Joshua's long day has nothing to do with logic. It is correct to say that it can not be confirmed. But there is a theory for it. Such kind of thing is EVERYWHERE in our daily life. It is not a surprise.

Do you know what an "implication" means? Yes, we do not know. But it is meaningful. It may change people's life.

Whatever says in the Bible is 99% logic. The Joshua's Long Day itself is not related to logic. But the function of that long day in Joshua's war is perfectly logic.

Well if you dont know much about the theory, how can you claim it can stop the sun from setting? Also, if we don't know much about it, how can you call it a Theory?

Yes, Santa may change people's life. That is one effect of implication. But I don't have to believe the Santa is a true figure.

I believe your exact words were "[If you like to talk about the science/engineering details on any items above, we can certainly do that" I gave you some examples of stories I felt were not logical, and as I put your feet to the fire, you backed off each story one by one. Well i have a simple explanation for how the sun could stop moving... it wasn't the sun. remember that this was written in B.C. Earth, not a whole lot of science, so any bright light in the sky=sun. God could have sent several natural objects to complete this task...
1. A star lightyears away could have exploded giving off a huge burst of energy in the form of light
2. Meteorite burning up in the atmosphere could have given off the light
3. For the more paranormal, angels were known to go up in beams of light, creating the theory that their bodies are composed of photons, so an angel could very well have given off enough light to equal the magnitude of a sun.

God created nature, he doesn't need to do "supernatural" things in order to get the job done since he created the concept of natural. What's miraculous is his ability to control it at just the right time to do what he wants

Even during BC times, people knew the difference between the Sun and a bright light. Since the Bible says it is the Sun, is it your opinion that the bible is wrong?

Kudos to you for pointing out my mistake, but after reading the actual text and a post on puritanboard.com (sorry it won't let me link the page ) i believe this has been misinterpreted. The Israelites were battling the Amorites at a place called Gibeon where in Joshua 10:10 it says that "the Lord discomfited(routed) them before Israel...and chased them along the way that goeth up to Bethhoron" (KJV) then if you look at verse 12 "...Sun stand thou still upon Gibeon and thou, Moon in the valley of Ajalon". Joshua was praying for an extended period of darkness, since the Amorites were fleeing away from the battle at Gibeon. The most accepted "natural" reason of how this happend is that there was a solar eclipse, or the hailstorm that was created in verse 11 blocked out the Sun. I would be intrigued to know how a momentary retardation of the Earths rotation could cause any kind of massive change (since i don't consider myself an expert on earth science)

So far, I have successfully defended every challenge you posed to me.

I don't know too much about the 5th dimension. I "learned" a little from literature (other people's work) and used it in my argument. I don't see anything wrong with that. Do you know what is the "references" about in an argument? If you need to be an actual expert to make any claim, then you better tape your mouth and never utter a word.

You know much less on the issue than me. If you have hard time to see my simple explanation, then why should I explain more to you even if I could?
