the Greek word 'ekklesia' which comes from two words 'ek' meaning 'out' and 'kaleo' meaning to 'call.' Sure doesn't sound as an institution, an organization. Guess it means that only to those who profit from it.
Thank you UB and you are absolutely correct brother

Acts 7:30 And of being filled years, forty, was seen to him in the wilderness of the mount Sinai a messenger of Lord, in a Flame of fire of a bush 38 This is the one-becoming in the Out-Called/ekklhsia <1577> in the wilderness with the Messenger the one speaking to him in the Mount Sinai, and with our fathers who receives oracles/words, living, to give to us.

Luke 16:24 And he sounding said "Father Abraham! be thou merciful to-me! and send Lazarus! that he should be dipping the tip of the finger of him of water and should be cooling down the tongue of me that I am being pained in the Flame this."

Just the opposite of an institution.
Kingdom, that's what Jesus called us to.
He was trying to preach the gospel of the
Kingdom of God... but men were trying to
push their religion down men's throats..

Why did they NOT like Jesus? Because their
position of authority was threatened by Him.
Watch out, HE got crucified.

It's only that if the sides allow it to be.

There has already been a great deal of change is attitudes between the RCC and many other Churches. The easing of past tentions and Joint Declarations with the Lutherns and Orthodox have occurred in my lifetime.
True. However, that is far short of what would be necessary for reconciliation or reunification.

Recognizing the Spirit of God exists in other Churches goes a long way.
Yes, but not the distance needed if we want to discuss reconciliation. That's what the title of the thread deals with. Making some progress towards closing the differences on doctrine helps a lot, but consider this: The RCC and the EO are as close on doctrine as any two churches we've mentioned are, but they are still no where near reconciling...and the position of the Papacy is the main deterrent.

look, Ches... if you want to talk about things, drop the proselytizing, mmmm'k?

Don't be afraid to confront uncomfortable truths.

The Church was founded by Jesus, even if you don't want to hear about it.

Christians should be one as Jesus and the Father are one (John 17:22-23). We should have "one mind, one spirit"(Philippians 1:27) and have "no dissensions, same mind and judgment"(1 Corinthians 1:10)

Will this ever be possible when everyone interprets the bible according to their own understanding?

It does to me. How can you consult an invisible collection of believers?
Which believers are 'invisible'?
Well you can 'pretend' if you want, that I'm invisible...
:p JK.

Who do you listen to when there are differences of opinion?

Matthew 18

17If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

Luke 10
16"He who listens to you listens to me; he who rejects you rejects me; but he who rejects me rejects him who sent me."

John 20
21Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." 22And with that he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit. 23If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven."

1 Timothy 3
15if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God's household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.

2 Thes 2
15So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.

Matthew 16

17Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. 18And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. 19I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
[/QUOTE]
You follow the guidelines set forth in Scripture.

It's only possible by following the leading of the Holy Spirit instead of our own understanding which are really the doctrines of men, passed down from generation to generation, accumulating more and more as the ages pass.

I just do not go by Roman Catholicism's understanding of the Scriptures.
Anyone ever heard exactly how many scripture verses have been infallibly interpretted?

I was told 8...

makes me laugh when a catholic wants to argue about what a scripture means when their own church doesn't interpret them for them and they can't do it on their own.

No. We certainly can't be loving our neighbors as ourselves outside of the theological constructs and constraints of the RCC now can we?

lol

I don't think that is in your interest.

You are further dividing the body of Christ.

Unity of Christians is only possible in the Church led by the keeper of the keys.

All other Churches will only lead to division because they are ruled by human wills.

Why distort my post?

Here's what I said:

Christians should be one as Jesus and the Father are one (John 17:22-23). We should have "one mind, one spirit"(Philippians 1:27) and have "no dissensions, same mind and judgment"(1 Corinthians 1:10)

Is this possible outside of the Church?

Individuals disagree about where the Holy Spirit leads, which is why there are thousands of Churches led by bible believing Christians who claim to be led by the Holy Spirit.

Why don't they all agree with eachother?

Makes me wonder how many of those Paul wrote to needed bifocals :p
