If you are going to put it in quotes I'd agree with LLOJ. Post the full scripture, or at least a reference. I think we're talking about this verse:
This one does not say "nothing". It is also clear that in order to be in God's hand and so unsnatchable you must follow Jesus.
Other verses clearly show us that Christians are operating in God's
power, not our own power.
And in fact, when it's in our power, we see people falling away from
their faith.
I dont' at all believe they lost salvation, they never truly had it to
begin with.
Mat. 13 - no root took place, they had one of the bad soils that
the seed was planted in but nothing continued to live.
John 17 12"While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name which You have given Me; and I guarded them and not one of them perished but the son of perdition, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled.
Romans 9:21
Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor?
Ephesians 3:20
20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
Colossians 1:10-12
10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; 1
2 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.
God kept them in their genuine faith - it wasn't their own doing.
Even in Peter's failing, He wasn't lost & didn't remove Himself from
God's hand in his denial.
I think we tend to think that we're doing this all in our own
willpower, strength & ability or something...
God is doing ALL OF IT thru us - even providing our WILL to
continue in Him.
We don't even have that outside ourselves.
