Revelation 17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not;
and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit

After He ascends from the pit, He rules over the kingdom of the 10 kings for some time and then makes war allied with them against Christ, the Lamb.
prophesised in Revelation 17:14


Which verses before Revelation 17, can we find when the Anti christ was placed in the bottomless pit where he would be till he ascends to receive the kingdom from the 10 kings as described in Revelation 17:12-13?

Dear Sheilaw, i think it make unneccesary problems to assume that the beast in revelation and the antichrist mentioned in 1. and 2. johns letters is the same. It is pretty clear and also accepted by most scolars and commantaries on all sides that the beast in revelation is the roman empire and the seven heads of the beast (not the dragon) is the seven emperors from julius ceasr to Galba (who only reigned a short time).

The book of revelation is a book given in "signs" to john to show the churches at that time what was about to happen.
That the beat rises from the pit smiply means that the roman empire was ultimatly under the inspiration of the kingdom of hell. The opposite of this is the kingdom of God that comes DOWN from Heaven where jesus is on the throne and manifestes it self on earth.

That it was, and is to rise up again, simply means that under Nero, the head that ruled when john received the visions, the great Pax Romana, the roman peace kingdom, nearly was destroyed because of the poor character of Nero. Sivil upheavel and coupes started and was planned and historians tells us that this nearly ended the kingdom itself. After Neros death, the unstability of that time caused the roman empire to have four emporors coming to power in just one year. When Vespasian came to power, stability beagn to come back to the empire again.

Don't think that antichrist is a physical person that actually went to the actual pit (hell) but rose again and ruled the nations as a political power. This will violate all biblical definitions of what the antichrist actually is.

beasts are always Kingdoms .....they are also the King of fulfilment.

For example Babylon is referred to by Daniel 7:as the first Kingdom on Earth but there was more then one King. This is also True of the Next Empire media Persia it too is a Beast or Kingdom but it had more then one King.

When Prophecy is about a specific event like say making the pact with the 10 Kings in rev 17 the Beast becomes the King of fulfilment.

So the beast of Rev 17 is the Holy Roman Empire which is the kingdom the beast will take over. The Beast is also the king of fulfilment ......in this Case the king of fulfilment is the AC out of the Pit.

The AC is the leader of the Fallen Angels who have been locked in the pit since the flood.

They were locked in the pit as Jude Tells for leaving their First Estate and taking Human Wives.

They....... deceived by Satan....... taught mankind astrology....... to make weapons............. and to fight war among other things.

The AC is the leader of the Fallen Angels
who have been locked in the pit since the flood. Jude 6 is clear on the chaining. So this AC leader of fallen angels has been chained and off the scene since the flood , for thousands of years and HAS NOT AND WILL not be released till some time later.

You however overlooked one thing about the Holy Roman empire. You did not explain anything about The Angel who gave the Beast Holy Roman empire, power and authority in Revelation 13:2.

You did not explain how the Holy Roman Empire was active as the BEAST
without the leader of the fallen Angels who was chained from the period of the flood continuously till the future. I see that the AC was chained way back in Old Testament times as noted in Jude 6.

Which UNCHAINED Angel was roaming Earth and therefore gave The Holy Roman Empire evil power and authority as the Beast in the period from its beginnings in Rev 13:2 till its first demise when the AC was still in chains??

Please carefully explain this.

Who gave his Throne to the Beast Holy Empire and his power in Revelation 13:2? At that time , the LEADER of the fallen angels was still sealed in the Pit

Revelation 13:1,2,5,7 of the beast rising out of the sea, is the EXACT same prophecy of Daniel 2:40,41, 44,45: 7:1-28, which was fulfilled, at the First Advent (Lu.1:33, 2:1,19, John 12:34; Rev. 5:5-13; 11:15, 20:4).
