  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

i got so much horror from the devil himself or his minions, that i don't feel as watching anything related to horror, lets be honest most horror films have 'satanic themes'. Like i said i already had a share of real life horror i don't want more of it even fictional.

When I was younger, I lived in a big Edwardian house which had a large cellar with passages leading to a dark room with a large water boiler which looked like a monster. It had guages lit up on the front which ressembled a pair of eyes gazing at you when you walked into the room. There was the sound of hissing which would suddenly erupt into a roaring noise which frightened the life out of anyone that was there. For many years, I was too scared to go down there alone and I was even very nervous going down with someone else.
One day, I decided to confront my fear once and for all. I decided to go down to the cellar alone. I opened and walked down the noisy creaky staircase, through the passages into the boiler room. I then saw the "monster" for what it was. It was a just a boiler. It wasn't going to harm me or anyone. It was just doing its job heating water for the house.
I think many of us watch horror films for the same reason. We know the story isn't real, but our minds try to imagine what it would be like if it were. As human beings we are naturally inquisitive and part of our quest is to face our own fears and deal with topics and themes we feel uncomfortable with.
Once we realise that what seems uncomfortable is not a real threat to us, we feel stronger in managing our emotions and confronting our fears.

Eh,.. to each his or her own. *Shrugs shoulders* Anyways here's another one of my favorite songs. :D

Why does everyone say the remake of that movie sucks so much, anyway? I personally think Chloe Moretz is a pretty awesome lil' actress. (Although, that certainly doesn't mean everything she's in will be good .... I took one look at Movie 43 and said NOPE.)

(Actually this film might be right up your alley, @Rose2020 . It's pretty hardcore on the level of violence, though, but somehow managed to be stylish about it, and was quite chilling. Even my ideal persona Sarah's Knight with his bravery and legendary magical holy sword the Northern Longblade would be wary of venturing into this particular house of evil. O_O )

I didn't say that the movie sucked I just liked the original better that's all.

Here's one of my favorite scenes from any horror movie. Yes, I like the Halloween/Michael Myers movies too. And I'm looking forward to Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends. :D

Not too big of a fan of those films,.. but here's one that I forgot to mention.

I like the occasional horror films, especially those with a legend, a twist in the end or clever storytelling. Some of the ones produced in the 1970s and 1980s were really good.

Also the kinds of films that aren't particularly 'scary' as such but give you the creeps! Doppelgangers make a good storyline.

Oh and before I go to bed two quick things. One, did I mention that I was horrified of showers for awhile due to Psycho? Lol and two,.. both videos of yours were good but the first one was predictable and the other one was just confusing.

Oh, I didn't mean you. Just your mentioning it made me think that in general everyone's opinion on it that I have heard from seemed to hate it. :)

I don't like supernatural, monster, or possessed "Damien" type of horror, but I do like honest old fashioned gothic "haunted house" horror (Crimson Peak, 2015) and more realistic, if you will, psychological horror that pits man against himself and/or nature /non-supernatural atmosphere or man against the worst of mankind type of terror and human drama. What Ever Happened to Baby Jane (1962), Lord of the Flies (1963), The Cube (1997), Misery (1990), Wolf Creek (2005), Shutter Island (2010), Sauna (2008), The Village (2004).
