  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

1.The Ring scared me half out of my mind. One the fifth or seventh day or whatever (when you're supposed to die after seeing the movie) I was all panicked and wouldn't go indoors because of the girl in the tv. *lol* I get too into these things.

2.Nightmare on Elm Street 3 was one of the first ones I saw. I loved it.

3.Haunting of Hell House, where they are in an old hospital and see ghosts

4.28 Days Later was creepy.

5. Friday the 13th...I was too young when I saw it. Still freaks me out.

6. The movie of Stephen King's "The Shining", both old and new but older is scarier.

7. Final Destination, the first one. The second one is plotless.

8. Last House on the Left. It's pretty old I think, but I rented it when I was 14 and it really freaked me out.

9. The Others...not so scary but creepy, anyway.

10. The Blair Witch Project...both of them for different reasons.

LOL! My husband made me watch it, after he effectively convinced me that it wasn't "gory", which it wasn't. Wasn't the little girl's name Samoa? Come to think of it - isn't that the name of a Girl Scout cookie???!! She may be trying to get to us through video tapes AND desserts, feral!! (That's why I stick to good ole fashioned Thin Mints).

My favorite scary movie is a "classy" one with George C. Scott called "The Changeling" about a secluded haunted mansion that he's renting, so he can compose music. It's a creepy, creepy movie, but has a GREAT story line.

Aside from that, I don't watch regular "horror" movies anymore, per se, since I became a Christian three years ago. Just not my thing anymore. I've been too deeply scarred for life as a kid by having seen The Exorcist (evil, pure evil), Friday the 13th (STILL won't sleep in bunkbeds or go camping), Amityville Horror (a TRUE story about a demon-possessed house???), Halloween (and its theme music), Poltergeist or Pet Sematary (two good lessons to never bury anything on sacred Indian ground apparently), Motel Hell (not scary as it was just stupid and gross).....did I mention Poltergeist? - I hate big ugly trees at night & think all clowns are evil! I only saw the video box cover for "IT" and had a nightmare!! :|

Um, yeah, I've had my fill to last a lifetime...gimme a comedy, action, or sappy romance movie instead. ;)

I'm a huge fan of horror movies. My favorites have to be the Friday the 13th movies, although after part 4 they got kinda silly.

I also like the Evil Dead trilogy. Bruce Campbell is my all-time favorite actor.

Romero's Dead Trilogy is also great. The original Dawn is far better than the new one.

I actually really like The Others. I think it's done brilliantly. There is no blood, and very little cussing and it will still keep you on the edge of your seet. It actually kept me up at night, because I was so certain something was coming into my room because my curtains kept moving.

The only movie that has ever truly frightened me as in hair standing up, driving home with the lights and sleeping on the floor because I was scared of something under the bed.....THE EXORCIST! I saw it for the first time when it was rereleased a coupla years ago (before I was a Xian) and saw it on the big screen--it still disturbs me to this day! Yikes!

I first saw the Exorcist when I was 10. Needless to say it terrified me beyond belief. It truly was disturbing.

Is it true that this movie was released on Christmas day?
