Not really a new post, but pertinent. Since I’ve been back, I’ve been reading backward on this thread, and trying to catch up. Here are two thoughts that have emerged.

One: Sillyseth, you took my opener and elaborated on it. That is Such a compliment, and I really appreciate it.

Two, Darkseid, if you are still reading this thread, has anyone ever suggested that you should be a writer. Oh wait….

I looked down at the ground, observing my own motionless body and unseeing eyes. This could not possibly be good.

Wooo, now this is fun! I'm great at this stuff: flashing a quick scene that grabs attention. It's making it into a whole novel that I hate, lol. OK, let me see...

"She stood in the mist of the battlefield. Dark rain fell, hard and icy. Nothing stirred. Broken bodies, armour, helms, here and there a spear poked skyward from the carnage."

Whew, 30 words exactly lol.

Hi, AlleyCatPurrrrs! Thanks for that nice thing you said about my last entry! All these openers just keep getting better and better, imho. I enjoy reading them so much! It would be a crime, in some cases, if they weren't made into openers for actual stories. Especially that one you wrote about the name 'Ned' being written on the shower mirror. Spooky!!!

Here are two more for me:


Reese picked up the phone and heard the familiar voice of his Uncle Colin. The problem being, his uncle had died in a house fire five years before.

By noon Kurt was convinced the only thing that could make his day worse would be a meteor slamming into his house. Looking up, he saw it coming.
