All these new entries are FANTASTIC. I’ve read each and every one, and in between laughing out loud, I was wishing some of them had the rest of the story attached. I keep being amazed at the talent and creativity on the CF Writer’s Guild! I wish I had the time to comment on some of the very best openers, but I just don’t right now. I can’t help but remark, though, on the agnostic who prays every day to be made an atheist. The irony is incredible. Great work, one and all!!

I hadn't meant to shoot the bird. I hadn't meant to even fire the gun. How was I supposed to know it'd send my whole world to hell? It was a sparrow, for crying out loud.

I just got caught up reading the new entries—another great batch! I love finding time to catch up, because I spend most of it laughing really hard. There is some GREAT talent on the CF Writer’s Guild! I hate to single any out for mention, because I don’t have time to mention ALL of them and there wasn’t one in the bunch I didn’t like. But that said, I can’t seem to not mention at least a few. Namely:

Tariel, that was a very funny entry about the non-picture book.

Darkseid, I would embarrass myself if I admitted how loudly I laughed about the gun and the hook.

Inkabink: major points for using the words ‘cement’ and ‘good kiss’ in the same opener. LOL.

Liesje, you write beautifully.

fffaux, we feel exactly the same way about freedom. You expressed a sublime sentiment; I’d love to see the rest of the story!

dramaking, you have a Bulwer-Lytton prize in your future.

Sunstruck, stop playing with guns! We’ve only got one world, and you’re jeopardizing it!
