Anglican Church International Statement of purpose.

Mission

The mission of the ACI is to bring the unconditional love of God to all persons and to assist in the building up of God's just communities of love through compassion and discernment. There are many ways in which the Spirit inspires ministries to accomplish this purpose. The ACI remains open to the ways in which God may use or lead individuals and communities in bringing the ministry of God's love to all people.

Vision

The ACI is a radically inclusive denomination. Our creator calls every person to turn to God's embrace; to find safety, love, and acceptance. The ACI supports the freedom of every human being to respond to the call of a loving God. We affirm a theology that is life giving and enhancing, rather than one that is shaming, rejecting, or oppressive and punitive.

The ACI seeks, with God's help to be a safe harbor, a community of light that offers God's grace and Christ's love to all who would receive it. We actively seek out those who are on; left behind or cast out by other denominations, institutions, or systems; those who have been discriminated against, or have not felt truly at home in other denominations. Some of these are the poor, social outcasts, gay men and lesbians, racial minorities, the young and old, people with broken relationships, women, trans-gendered persons, bi-sexual persons, those abused or neglected in any way, those questioning their sexuality, those dealing with mental or physical challenges, the sick and dying, and all those seeking to love God and their neighbor as themselves.

If you don't think JESUS existed then you don't believe that Julius Caesar existed, or Napoleon Bonaparte. Good job! and good luck with that.
wow what a weak argument
jesus never wrote anything down, both napoleon and caesar did, we have statues of them, and we know where they lived.
jesus on the other had did not write anything down, we have no statues of him. nor can anyone support where he really lived, nazarene is questioned as to existing before the second century

so your argument fails painfully, good job

 Waitaminnit...I know my Latin's rusty, but still...

"By scripture alone"
"By faith alone"
"By grace alone"
"By Christ alone"

It seems to me that each of these ideas -- at least when reduced to fancy-schmantsy Latin sound bites -- would exclude the others. But perhaps that's just another example of SoF's particular flavor of theological paradoxy.

Fun tidbit: "[FONT=Arial, Geneva, Helvetica]SOLA SCRIPTURA FIDE GRATIA" can be anagrammed into "As Lucifer's rapid agitator."

Throughout the Bible, God calls his people to be different than the world. As human beings, we all do wrong and we sin, therefore showing our inherently evil side. But because of God, we find something called 'grace' and that grace looks beyond our initial evilness and forgives us time and time again.

As His people, we are washed away from our sins and made different. The one thing that makes followers of Christ so much different is because we love each other. "They shall know you are my followers if you love one another." So if we are to follow God's commandments, then we're to love each other, regardless or what we do wrong. You know the whole "hate the sin, love the sinner principle?" Yeah, God created that one.

Look through all your commentary SoF, and I feel you will find that you are not conveying love. You're conveying anger and hate. That's very unChristianlike. I'm not condemning you or anything, but think about the very people you try to be a light to...do they want to see a hateful, selfish light? No. They want to see a light of goodness and mercy, all the things that light stands for when it is dark. I urge you to look, and see. The number one love story of all time is the Word of God, if God wrote such a love letter, do you think he wants us to be hateful and despiteful?

Homosexuals, please do not allow Sheild of Faith to deter you from Christianity. There is a rising movement of the emphasis of Love. While we realize that Love and acceptance is one of the needs of every single individual, and we seek to meet those needs, we also wish to present the gospel to you in the manner in which it truly is. Shield of Faith is simply a believer that has neglected the emphasis of love. I am asexual myself, and I'm sure that Sheild of Faith believes that my being asexual neglects the whole "going forth, being fruitful and multiplying" principle and commandment in the Bible, as I'm sure he will mention that Homosexuality also doesn't follow that commandment. But in our defense, I will say that the whole principle doesn't always talk about children, per se, but could also be applied to the whole belief of vine and the branches, as well as bearing good fruit. Yet another way we're called, as Christians, to be the bearers of good fruit. I don't think that by doing this Sheild of Faith bears good fruit, and if it does, no one sees it. Plentiful fruit is sown because of loving reaping.

Go in Love

This is one difference between christians and me. Christians see people as "inherently evil". I see them as inherently good.

Ha. That's just funny. (sorry, no one here likes SoF - not even other christians. Why he stays around blathering at the mouth as he does is far beyond my comprehension.. unless he's a sockpuppet, which I find hard to believe otherwise most of the time. I wish I knew whose he was, so I could congratulate them on a job well done :D )

I am asexual myself...

Interesting. Don't think I've ever met an asexual before. How does that work? (serious question)

I like the van! :D

From my understanding of scripture, we are not called to rebuke those who do not believe, but rather our fellow believers who are willfully choosing to continue in a lifestyle of sin.

IMHO, nastiness and condemnation does not exhibit the love of Christ.

While I believe that the Bible does make it clear that homosexuality is a sin, among many, I don't believe that there is any authority to vilify and belittle homosexuals themselves. They are not their sin, any more than you are yours or I am mine. They are made in God's image, just as you are.

Do you find this to be an effective way to spread the Good News?

Should homosexuals, through the Holy Spirit and some impetus (other than this rather obnoxious thread obviously), be drawn to Christ and place their faith in him, their sins will be washed just as clean as yours.

The most difficult commandment indeed is to love your neighbor as yourself.

2. Homosexuals: I'm calling you out!!! Prove to me that HE did not raise up from the dead! Prove to me that HE did not die on the cross and did not rise from the dead. The ball is in your court now. No one has ever been able to prove that HE did not rise from the dead. So you must prove that JESUS CHRIST did not rise from the dead. If you do this, no Christian will ever bother you again. No Christian will be able to rebuke you for your vile sin of homosexuality; because you have destroyed Christianity.

Until then; you will be rebuked for your vile sin. You will be corrected and commanded to repent and turn your life to Christ.

If you don't want to live with the shame and guilt of this wicked sin, then either Prove that HE did not rise from the dead; or realize that HE did and has the power to heal you and REPENT and come to HIM and let HIM wash you white as snow!!!!!!!

Some - indeed, a great many - homosexuals are Christians too. As such, they're not likely to want to prove Christ's resurrection wrong, since they live by it just as you do.

David.

This is one difference between christians and me. Christians see people as "inherently evil". I see them as inherently good.

In fairness, not all Christians see people as "inherently evil". I see (or at least try to see - it isn't always easy) people as made in God's image.

That doesn't follow. "If I'm bi-curious, and if I'm somehow made from God, then I guess God's a little bi-curious too".

I'm asexual, all it simply is the absence of sexual attraction. Meaning...you know the feeling you get when you see an attractive member of the opposite sex or vice versa, or at the wet t-shirt contest and your crush just looks really nice? i don't get that. I don't understand that. I just don't have it and don't desire to have that attraction feeling. I just kinda love everybody, regardless of sex, yet feel no attraction to them.

research it at
www.aven.org

Message me if you want anymore info or on here. I'm very open about it!

Seconded. I think seeing people as inherently evil is wrong, and that the old "original sin" doctrine is a bunch of medieval hooey. I'm much less literal on the "made in God's image," however, taking it as having the capacity to reason, imagine, etc., as opposed to any physical similarity.

Lol. Technically, no. I'm gay, so I don't get any feeling about boobs or wet t-shirt contests, or members of the opposite sex in general. Now, if we wanna talk about David Draiman or Vin Diesel... I'm all ears :D

My only question is... do you desire to have that desire? I mean, if you could change your not wanting sex, would you? Do you feel like you're missing out, or feel left out?

Ok I'm gonna guess Southpark , because I remember an episode when they all went metro sexual .

*crosses fingers*
It was Southpark, but wrong episode. Butters said it when he went to a 're-education' camp for homosexual youths.

oops sorry I meant to put "and vice versa" in there....i'll go edit it in just a minute!

My only question is... do you desire to have that desire? I mean, if you could change your not wanting sex, would you? Do you feel like you're missing out, or feel left out?

Well...not really. I'll be honest, the idea of being alone for the rest of my life terrifies me. It really does, but then I realize I won't be alone, I have friends and family. In the beginning when I first had a name for it, and i started learning more and more about being asexual, the more and more I realized that the definition fit me. Oh sure, I was in denial, or I wished something would change. But I've now grown to be okay with it. I mean so what if I don't have that one soul mate, as one of my friends said, I can have many deep and intense relationships with other people other than just one spouse. And since then, the desire to have my absence of desire changed has just become absent.

Do I feel like I'm missing out? A little bit, but not really. The way I see it, there's many more things out there for me, I'm freer to have more relationships with all different kinds of people, rather than just my close group of friends and my SO.
