oops sorry I meant to put "and vice versa" in there....i'll go edit it in just a minute!

Well...not really. I'll be honest, the idea of being alone for the rest of my life terrifies me. It really does, but then I realize I won't be alone, I have friends and family. In the beginning when I first had a name for it, and i started learning more and more about being asexual, the more and more I realized that the definition fit me. Oh sure, I was in denial, or I wished something would change. But I've now grown to be okay with it. I mean so what if I don't have that one soul mate, as one of my friends said, I can have many deep and intense relationships with other people other than just one spouse. And since then, the desire to have my absence of desire changed has just become absent.

Do I feel like I'm missing out? A little bit, but not really. The way I see it, there's many more things out there for me, I'm freer to have more relationships with all different kinds of people, rather than just my close group of friends and my SO.

Wow. Well, I'm a bit envious.. I wish I could be as content with myself as you seem to be :) Thanks for answering my questions.

Blah blah blah
And racists quote the bible to justify murdering people with dark skin.

Is SOF one of them? Just wondering because I noticed the "wash you white as snow" part of his rambling big print post.

Does his post mean only albinos are saved? Just wondering!

No, thank you for asking, seriously! The more and more people that know about it, the more and more influence it has! Anytime!

Trust me, it's a process. Don't be discouraged!!

...this whole thread is a text book example of people twisting the Bible for their own uses. Just to let you know, ShieldOfFaith, Jesus taught us to love our neighbors.
So do us all a favor and stop distorting His words!!!

Throughout the Bible, God calls his people to be different than the world. As human beings, we all do wrong and we sin, therefore showing our inherently evil side. But because of God, we find something called 'grace' and that grace looks beyond our initial evilness and forgives us time and time again.

As His people, we are washed away from our sins and made different. The one thing that makes followers of Christ so much different is because we love each other. "They shall know you are my followers if you love one another." So if we are to follow God's commandments, then we're to love each other, regardless or what we do wrong. You know the whole "hate the sin, love the sinner principle?" Yeah, God created that one.

Look through all your commentary SoF, and I feel you will find that you are not conveying love. You're conveying anger and hate. That's very unChristianlike. I'm not condemning you or anything, but think about the very people you try to be a light to...do they want to see a hateful, selfish light? No. They want to see a light of goodness and mercy, all the things that light stands for when it is dark. I urge you to look, and see. The number one love story of all time is the Word of God, if God wrote such a love letter, do you think he wants us to be hateful and despiteful?

Homosexuals, please do not allow Sheild of Faith to deter you from Christianity. There is a rising movement of the emphasis of Love. While we realize that Love and acceptance is one of the needs of every single individual, and we seek to meet those needs, we also wish to present the gospel to you in the manner in which it truly is. Shield of Faith is simply a believer that has neglected the emphasis of love. I am asexual myself, and I'm sure that Sheild of Faith believes that my being asexual neglects the whole "going forth, being fruitful and multiplying" principle and commandment in the Bible, as I'm sure he will mention that Homosexuality also doesn't follow that commandment. But in our defense, I will say that the whole principle doesn't always talk about children, per se, but could also be applied to the whole belief of vine and the branches, as well as bearing good fruit. Yet another way we're called, as Christians, to be the bearers of good fruit. I don't think that by doing this Sheild of Faith bears good fruit, and if it does, no one sees it. Plentiful fruit is sown because of loving reaping.

Go in Love

T-bird, howdy.

I am not trying to persecute homosexuals. I am not trying to hate anything here. I am not hating anything here.

What I am doing is forcing the issue.

I am cutting through all the poopoo that most Christians let themselves get bogged down with. I am getting to the heart of the matter.

1. Either JESUS ROSE FROM THE DEAD, or HE did not.

2. If HE did you now are 100% accountable for your vile sins. I am forcing the homosexuals and all their defenders to 'Man UP, or Shut up'!

That is all I am doing. I am forcing them to see how utterly sinful they are and how they NEED to Repent and be born again or they WILL be lit on fire for all eternity.

They can not prove that Messiah did not rise from the dead!!! Therefore they must REPENT!

SOLA GRATIA.

SOF, you are claiming that you don't hate homosexuals and all that you just want people to be reborn and go to heaven etc.

what is someone listens to your advice and thinks you may be right but chooses, CHOOSES, to run the risk of hell fire. Is that OK?

ShieldOfFaith, I won't quote scripture at you as I'm not religious, and so find the Bible something of an unreliable document. In any case, it's filled with what might be called "eye witness" accounts, which are notorious for inaccuracies. On topic, though! You originally asked folks to disprove that Jesus rose from the dead as that would summarily destroy the base of Christianity, and thus prove that being gay is not a sin (nor is anything the Church laid down as "God's Law").

Well, I have to say that your reasoning is flawed, first of all. In matters of faith, it is the one claiming something unbelievable that has the burden of finding substantial evidence to support his side. I can find no Bible verse that states Jesus did not rise because...well, let's face it. Who "edited" the Bible? A bunch of fellows who wanted to make sure the Christian faith had a strong figure head to follow. A divine leader is much more enticing for the masses than one who is mortal. Anyway, that ties into the reason you won't find the Bible stating: "No, he didn't rise."

Historical evidence is limited considering this all happened 2000 or so years ago when some up-start prophet decided to challenge traditional Judaism. I will grant you that Jesus existed. To deny his existence is silly, however, denying existence and divinity are very different. Whether Jesus was the son of God seems to be more the concern here rather than his existence. Again, I'm getting off point, sorry. In short, the New Testament's really the only source that ever states Jesus rose from the dead and it was composed of "eye-witness" writings of the apostles (supposedly, anyway, although that is easily arguable), that were subsequently edited, so it is largely unreliable.

Scientific evidence from that time is even more difficult to come by. It's not as though we know where the tomb of Jesus was and so are able to run tests on burial wrappings, traces of blood, etc.

In conclusion, you ask for something that is impossible. You ask us to disprove a "miraculous" happening. They are called miracles because they are beyond the ordinary. Without the ability to go back and time and watch if Jesus really did rise from the dead, any argument or discussion is pointless at best.

I have logic on my side that says no one has ever risen from the dead, therefore Jesus did not rise from the dead. You have emotion on your side that says because he was the son of God, Jesus rose. Yours sounds nicer, but I'd say logos is stronger than pathos in a debate. I doubt I'll say you as faith is curiously stronger than logic in some, but at least try to understand the inanity in your charge to disprove a miracle.

One last thing that I have to respond to having just seen it:

They can not prove that Messiah did not rise from the dead!!! Therefore they must REPENT!

Woah, there, tiger. Think about your reasoning: Someone cannot prove something, therefore they must accept this unprovable thing as the truth. Disprove unicorns, Nessie, vampires, werewolves, etc. Then do come talk to me, sir, about proper lines of reasoning.

I believe in celestial cookies which cause people to bake in an eternal oven if they use larger than font size 3. Unless you prove their non-existence, you'd better give up those large point sizes or prepare to burn.

Seriously, this is worse than most of your posts because you seem to be making an attempt at following a line of reasoned argument and are showing yourself to be woefully ill-equipped to do so.

Weak.

Your post is a 0 from 0-10.

Hurray! So on a normal person scale, that's a 10, right?

Anyway, your whole "prove jesus didn't rise from the dead" spiel is bunk, from the get-go. One cannot provide evidence of something that didn't happen. This is very basic. If you want to make the positive claim that jesus did rise from the dead, however, the burden of proof is on you. So far in this life, I've not seen one shred of evidence - not one - to make me believe in your god. IF you have evidence to the contrary, you may present it now, I'm listening. If you can't provide me with anything, then I'll continue to take your posts about as seriously as I take a warm, steamy pile of dog poo.

Oh, that's an easy one -- if he had rose from the dead, where is he now?

Oh, let me guess: "ascended into heaven, out of sight"? A likely story...

Until then; you will be rebuked for your vile sin. You will be corrected and commanded to repent and turn your life to Christ.

If you don't want to live with the shame and guilt of this wicked sin, then either Prove that HE did not rise from the dead; or realize that HE did and has the power to heal you and REPENT and come to HIM and let HIM wash you white as snow!!!!!!!

Start Proof.

End of Proof.

The bow of God's wrath is bent, and the arrow made ready on the string, and justice bends the arrow at your heart, and strains the bow, and it is nothing but the mere pleasure of God, and that of an angry God, without any promise or obligation at all, that keeps the arrow one moment from being made drunk with your blood. Thus all you that never passed under a great change of heart,
by the mighty power of the Spirit of God upon your souls; all you that were never born again, and made new creatures, and raised from being dead in sin, to a state of new, and before altogether unexperienced light and life, are in the hands of an angry God. However you may have reformed your life in many things, and may have had religious affections, and may keep up a form of religion in your families and closets, and in the house of God, it is nothing but his mere pleasure that keeps you from being this moment swallowed up in everlasting destruction. However unconvinced you may now be of the truth of what you hear, by and by you will be fully convinced of it. Those that are gone from being in the like circumstances with you, see that it was so with them; for destruction came suddenly upon most of them; when they expected nothing of it, and while they were saying, Peace and safety: now they see, that those things on which they depended for peace and safety, were nothing but thin air and empty shadows.
The God that holds you over the pit of hell, much as one holds a spider, or some loathsome insect over the fire, abhors you, and is dreadfully provoked: his wrath towards you burns like fire; he looks upon you as worthy of nothing else, but to be cast into the fire; he is of purer eyes than to bear to have you in his sight; you are ten thousand times more abominable in his eyes, than the most hateful venomous serpent is in ours. You have offended him infinitely more than ever a stubborn rebel did his prince; and yet it is nothing but his hand that holds you from falling into the fire every moment. It is to be ascribed to nothing else, that you did not go to hell the last night; that you was suffered to awake again in this world, after you closed your eyes to sleep. And there is no other reason to be given, why you have not dropped into hell since you arose in the morning, but that God's hand has held you up. There is no other reason to be given why you have not gone to hell, since you have sat here in the house of God, provoking his pure eyes by your sinful wicked manner of attending his solemn worship. Yea, there is nothing else that is to be given as a reason why you do not this very moment drop down into hell.
O sinner! Consider the fearful danger you are in: it is a great furnace of wrath, a wide and bottomless pit, full of the fire of wrath, that you are held over in the hand of that God, whose wrath is provoked and incensed as much against you, as against many of the damned in hell. You hang by a slender thread, with the flames of divine wrath flashing about it, and ready every moment to singe it, and burn it asunder; and you have no interest in any Mediator, and nothing to lay hold of to save yourself, nothing to keep off the flames of wrath, nothing of your own, nothing that you ever have done, nothing that you can do, to induce God to spare you one moment. And consider here more particularly
1. Whose wrath it is: it is the wrath of the infinite God.
--Jonathan Edwards, Sinners In The Hands Of An Angry God.

Just something for you to think about.
