Your lack of knowledge of who wrote the Bible is just pitiful. Shepherds weren't the only people who wrote books contained in the Bible. For instance, Luke was not a shepherd, neither was Matthew. You should really know a subject before you attempt to either discuss it or denigrate it.

Okay, the OT authors weren't all shepherds either. Moses was Egyptian royalty. LOL David was a king. Your claim that they were all ignorant goat herders really isn't holding up too well. Also, would you care to present any evidence for your claim that Matthew and Luke did not write their gospels? I really hope your evidence is something more convincing than the people from the Jesus Seminar.

The Mosaic Law was written by God through Moses. Just like every other book of the Bible was written by God through various people. It makes no difference whether they were shepherds or goat herders. God did not need their intellect to write His words down.

Well I think she's basing her objection on the fact that she is more "enlightened" and "educated" than a bunch of nomadic goatherders who lived 5,000 years ago, therefore she is smarter than they are and does not believe everything they did as true. She's relying on supposed "intellecutal superiority" here and failing miserably.

My objection is rather more to do with trying to overlay the societal norms and concerns of a bronze age semi nomadic pastoral society onto a post industrialist, information based urbanised one, without taking any of the fundamental differences into account.

Even YOU guys know things are different, as evidenced, once again, by the fact we no longer stone rape victims to death. And rightly so.
