But there's a big difference between that, and being somebody's slave. Maybe we have very different concepts of what a slave actually is, but I'm not the slave of my parents, or of my government. I might respect my parents but that doesn't mean that I'm their slave. And how can a government, which has been elected by people, have authority from heaven? Does God approve of all governments?

A slave would have been property in the B.C. (They were heathen and have now been made our equals) Slavery is just another relationship one would have to deal with. God let's them reign, it says somewere we are supposed to obey the laws or somthing like that.

I will assume you posted your remarks as a joke, which either way, it shows the type of person you are. Maybe slavery, as we know it, is the buying/selling of PEOPLE as a commodity. Owned as "property" there is no freedom for slaves, as they are at the mercy of their owners...so yeah, there is something very inherently wrong with that. Even if you were the best slave owner on the planet, it still doesn't jusify having another human being as your property. Children, elders, etc...are not OWNED by anyone. Perhaps b/c you're only 18 you don't get it..either way you're old enough to learn in the event you don't understand.

Freedom is an illusion.

Yet I bet anyone here $10 that David X won't be in a huge rush to subject himself to slavery anytime soon

I hope I would be. I would be in splendorous company. Joeseph was a slave, all of isreal was enslaved.

Moses never asked Pharaoh to set Israel free. Only to let Israel go on a 3 day journey in order to sacrifice to God, afterwards to return to continue their bondage. This would have easily fit into the Egyptian calendar, which was 360 days of work followed by an either 5 or 6 day period of national holiday (to bring the calendar back to synch). However, Pharaoh refused to do so, in part from fear that once gone Israel would ally themselves w other semitic peoples (such as the recently ousted Hyksos) and return to conquer Egypt.

Israel sold themselves into slavery via Joseph 400 years before. Pharaoh, of his own volition in an act he quickly regretted, set them free. God knew this would happen, but not once did He tell Moses to ask for the freedom of the Israelites.

In this, as in many other matters, Hollywood and most preachers get it wrong every time.

Please state facts. There is no evidence that its un healthy.
On just the physical facts: anal intercourse is unhealthy, wether practiced by heterosexuals or homosexuals.

In addition, promiscuity in general is unhealthy.

As a result, male homosexuals have many problesm both from "classical" STD's and other contagious diseases like Hepatitis, Giardia, and a long laundry list, as well as physical trauma to the anal sphincter, which was simply not designed for sexual activity (much less "fisting" and splenic massages). I am an internist physician for 23 years in south Miami Beach. It is laughable to say that male homosexuality is a healthy lifestyle. I see what I see, day in, and day out.

Also as a result, lesbians who tend to be less promiscous and also less penetrating, have STD rates that are quite low.

These are just the facts. Please note that in Romans, Paul makes a clear causal relationship between male homosexuality and physical deterioration.

Now on to homosexuality in general. I tend to agree w the comments made by the person who initiated this thread. We are all sinners, we are all deserving of Hell.

While I do not agree that all sin is the same to God, I shy away from listing what's worse than what. Even so, I would say that homosexuality is NOT among the worst sins.

Pride, arrogance, self-justification, and especially hypocrisy come to mind as both more common, and far worse , than homosexuality.

Again, though I admit that coming up with lists of comparative sin grievousness is in general not profitable, I would say that divorce, adultery, pedophilia and other sins that affect children are probably worse. A homosexual act hurts your own, and perhaps another willing participant. A divorce with children threatens all of society.

Even so, I find one thing that many homosexuals do far more abhorrent than their sexual activity: the demand that Scripture be changed to accomodate their sin.

I am obese. The bagel I just had was an act of sin. I will not compound that error by insisting, based on very strong genetic evidence, that I was just "made that way" and should be accepted as I am.

No, I am a sinner.

Any homosexual who admits that homosexual acts are both abnormal and sinful, no matter how often they fall short of keeping celibate, are at least trying on some level.

Any homosexual who demands that their actions be regarded as normal, and especially who seeks to twist Scripture to make it seem that homosexual acts are not sinful, are commiting a greater sin than homosexuality. They are in open defiance of God.

In this, the quest to "normalize" and receive acceptance for what is clearly wrong, many homosexuals are in great sin. They seek to justify themselves, and call God a liar.

As for those who look down their noses at homosexuals, while filling their churches with divorcees, they too are full of self-righteousness.

We are all sinful.

The homosexual that admits that is, more or less, no more sinful than the obese man like me.

If you need a second opinion to understand that exchanging fecal material between people is not healthy, then you've little common sense.

As I pointed out, lesbians are in general free of physical problems related to their sexual behaviour, both because their acts do not involve feces, and because they in general are not as promiscous. So I am not here ragging on homosexuals, I fully admit that a lesbian, from a health viewpoint, is safer than a heterosexual woman who engages in unprotected vaginal intercourse.

BTW, even shaking hands is not especially healthy. The asian practice of bowing is a far better epidimiologiucal practice.

Can we please stick to debate (And nothing personal please. And also remember there are younger people on like 13 year olds, so discriptions of intercourse and various things of that nature, not so good.)

Welcome to the forum, Médico. But you are in for it now. The pro-homosexual group will immediately start demanding peer reviewed studies for your statements how particular unnatural sex acts are unhealthy. And haven't you heard, "Paul was only talking about such acts when associated with pagan worship."

What in anything I said is personal?

As to younger people, any of my words and descriptions can be found in standard junior high textbooks today.

Nonetheless, I shall desist from further descriptions, as there is no need of them.

Thank you. I am just suggesting it, because the mods may close the thread if it gets too far off debate and gets too nasty (In any form)

I respect your medical opinion as you are a psychian. What I would say though is much of what you mention would not be the case if people were safe when having sex. that goes for ANYONE having sex. Items that you mention are practice by VERY few. I'm not going to get into all the graphics b/c there is no need, however, it in no way, shape, nor from represents homosexuality. Keep that in mind. Female prostitutes are riddled with disease, infection, etc..In fact, word wide, women are the highest group with AIDS and HIV. Not gay men, not gay women, but heterosexual women. Reasons behind this is reckless, anonomys, casual sex which is wrong period...I don't care who does it.

Yes, we are all sinners, but no..we are not all deserving of Hell. Perhaps that is your thought...not mine. I never was one to believe sin is sin. There are may kinds, and in fact, as a child I was taught sin and MORTAL sin. The more common sins you mention I agree with you 100%...and they know no sexuality. Gays and straight people are not immune from any of them.

I disagree with you a billion % with stating that "they demand scripiture be changed to accomodate their sin"...that is way outta line and I'm sorry that you feel that way and feel as if you got it all right in your beliefs. How dare you make a statement that classifies a group of people demanding a sin be accepted. TO YOU it is a sin..to many it is NOT. What gay people demand, if anything, is RESPECT, UNDERSTANDING and ACCEPTANCE...yes...acceptance, right along with the divorced christians, the self-righteous christians, the unwed sexaully active christians, etc...No one says that they demand anything, but gay people "demand". That's a terrible thing to suggest. Perhaps the way I have always been taught the Bible is that God is a God of Love, of acceptance, of compassion, of caring. The wicked, the sinners, the sick, the lepars, etc..flocked TO HIM. He embraced ALL of them. It comes across as "demanding" to some simply because they are HATERS out there to people that are different than them.

What is normal my friend??? Is it normal to have one arm? Is it normal to be blind? Is it normal to have cancer? Define to me what normal is? LOVE between 2 people is NORMAL. On that same level, please don't tell me what is in "open difiance of God". Unless you had dinner with him last nite, and he said yes, go ahead and cast judgement in my place, then you have on ground to make such a call. I think open difiance to God is the hypocrocy that is more prevalent than homosexuality. That being the christian who PROFESSES the faith, yet lives the life of a judgemental, condeming, and self-righteous person (as you stated above). The God that I have always known would never look down on a committed relationship regardless of what sex is involved.

Finally again, how dare you even suggest homosexuals call God a "liar"...the very thing you speak of is what you are representing here and it's called self-righeousness. Again, I respect you as a dr however, you have lost any respect I may have had for you as Christian. Your post disgusts me. In my prayers tonite I will ask for xtra help to rid me of the feelings I have towards you as a fellow Christian.
