Homosexuality - Here I stand.

To love one another is good. That does not mean one needs to act on homosexual urges. Once they do, it's sin. Many people struggle with homosexuality, but keep it in check by not acting on it. Such people glorify God.

Telling somebody they are wrong for obeying Scripture is also arrogant and prideful. Picking things from the Word of God that you don't like and rejecting them as not breathed of God is very prideful and arrogant, and in doing so the person places themself above the Almighty. That's what Satan tried to do, and we all know what his fate is. Regarding the golden rule, if I were making a grave mistake in my Christianity, I would want a person to come and point it out for me to correct my error, rather than hold my hand and say "It's ok, I love you. You can do whatever you want if it makes you feel good." If they are knowingly letting me continue in my error, and go to hell for it, then they are not very loving, are they? It just shows they have no spine to tell me the hard truth, knowing it may hurt me a little in the short term, but have positive eternal consequences.

It just shows how watered down Christianity has become, especially in liberal denominations such as episcopalian and united methodist. People are too afraid to offend someone by telling them that they are a sinner.

I don't know on what grounds people think they can condemn people to hell for?

I thought the Bible says no one can say Christ is the son of God except by The Holy Spirit, and then it says "whoever confesses that Jesus Christ is the son of the living God shall be saved", and then it says something about those of us who accept Christ will be written in the lamb's book forever and we cannot be blotted out?

My churches have never condemned anyone to hell.

Next, I fear there are some schisms happening in the churches of today and it's not about hating gays. The real issue is gay marriage and gay marriage within the Christian churches which is causing the world to be in a bit of chaos and misunderstanding right now, but I don't know of any of my churches who condemn anyone to hell.

The Pharisees could quote scripture by the yard but didn't uphold the law themselves. They were into making money off the law and putting a terrible burden of confusion upon poor and oppressed people and taking THE money from these people while thy themselves (The Pharisees) did not uphold the law.

And The Pharisees are the ones who made The Temple into a den of robbers.

Jesus came back and said "My father's house is a house of prayer... and you know the rest." Jesus was not pleased one bit!

You took what I said the wrong way. I never said people condemn eachother. But if someone is sinning, and someone else comes up to that person and shows them in the Bible where God says that is a sin, then the scripture speaks for itself. It is God judging and condemning, not the person.

You asked if anyone confesses Christ they are saved and their name cannot be blotted out of the book of life. Yes, you are right. But do you think that's a license to continue in wilfull, repeated sin? In James it says faith without works is dead. A truly saved individual has works that are evidence of their salvation; their life is transformed and they seek to glorify God. They still sin, but it's not a life charactarized by wilfull, repeated, unrepentant sin.

I’m not at all sure as to what message your wanting to pass along, but in regards to Love, I have to agree with Texas Lynn. To love another, regardless of anything, is a directly spiritual process…and I’d add…from God. The body on it’s own can not love. What it can do is desire, want, need and all things ego driven…but on it's own, it cannot Love. All Love comes from God.

Thank you for your contribution. However, you may have noted that I see such statements as essentially a cop-out. People are behaviour. As a social scientist will tell you - if you want to change someone, change their behaviour.

Jesus taught the same thing. He taught us to love and through the act of loving we ourselves change into something a little more worthy.

To turn your statement on its head I would end up with - If I see an act of compassion and kindness the person extending those qualities is not a loving human being - only the act is loving. Follow?

Is one abomination any less than another? According to Scripture sin is sin. And anything that's not of faith is sin!

Does Jesus sin? If He's you're Life and you are actively trusting, resting and abiding in Him you will do no sin! For He will do no sin in and through you!

I read the word abombination as sin for decades. Then I started to study what purity meant. As many of the abombinations that we heard refereaced are in the holiness code of Lev.

The 1st thing I learned was that abombination is almost always used in referance to idol worship.
Then I learned that the holiness code was about seperation .. Isreal from the idol worshippers.
I seems that even the idol worshippers have a holines code. But we don't understand this stuff today that well. We are Americans because we have a paper, licience, passport, birth certificate that says we are we are American's. Back then what said one was apart of a certian group was their holiness codes. How they dressed, how they eat, how they worshipped, how they did or didn't do certian other things. Now when we take that to the NT we see why Paul says 5 times we aren't under the Law of Moses. God in Jesus isn't about making all of us Isrealites. So we don't have to obey the holiness code of Isreal. What is out holiness code? We shall worhip the Lord our God thru Jesus. Our holiness code that seperates us from non beleivers is not our dress etc. But are we staying away from idols and worshippping, loving Jesus. Jesus is our righteousness.

Its an abombination for us to worship idols. Why don't we hear this preached today. Because noone would be being convicted and feel guilty because so few have idol set on alters in they home that they bow down before!

the fact is we literally know nothing about homosexuality except its an abomination and some people claim to be gay.thats all we know.
Nobody understands it.
It clearly states homosexuality is a sin.
