Absolutely.jak said:Hindsight after the Lord returns will tell us whether nuclear warfare was what the Bible was referring to!!
Till then, we have no way of being sure...and it's not really very important in influencing the way we should choose to live now.
From our side, we are called to be Jesus' followers, seeking peace, making peace.
Yes, very very seldom, very rarely, just wars may need to be fought...but I agree that as Christains, we should be constantly talking peace and trying to reduce all kinds of confrontation and skirmishing, reducing all kinds of weapons, downsizing armies...and seeing its terrible effects, should try to totally ban nuclear weapons globally.
Those counties like the US asking others to do so ought to do so themselves. Lead by example.
. .We see that it looks like the bible does tell of a nuclear war. I believe there will be limited nuclear exchanges before the worldwide war. I also believe that the rapture occurs right at, near, or just before the worldwide nuclear war. We are saved in more ways than one.
Some things we do know, there ill be a mark of the beast, without which we can't buy or sell. The antichrist will be revealed, etc. Nuclear war is a fairly sure thing as well, but as you say, we don't absolutely know that.
"Zechariah 14:12-16 (19) describes a battle which God will use to judge the nations (compare with Revelation 19:17-21 (20)). He describes the "plague" like this: "Their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths." This sounds gory but we can't escape the similarities to the destruction of people by nuclear warfare and fallout or biological or chemical warfare. How did Zechariah know? There was nothing comparable to this at all in his day. "
