You're fine david. It's just that some of us here don't like certain things for whatever reason, but you have the right to post whatever you want.

One thing that I wish that Benny Hinn would do (I don't know about bonke) would be to have some sort of preaching or something like that on the air. Just so people could hear his theology, and realize that there is more to going to church than people just getting slain...
Hey fiveinjuly :)

I don't know about where you are, but here Benny has just preached on tv. His theology seems to be pretty identical to that of a Pentecostal/Evangelical. In preaching services like this, he never asks for money. This is why I still respect him as a person and as a man of God.

It's too bad that you haven't been able to see it. Maybe one day :) eh?

God bless!

Don't be sorry. Just make sure you pray 1st about them ask God for if he can talk to them or anyone then he can talk to you. As you would want others to speak about you this is how we should speak of others. Me I don't watch them. For the most part I think there ok. No worse than me.

"Has someone spoken evil of Jesus?" Look up sheep and goats.

I would treat everyone here the same way. Prayer 1st. Love them and never ever get my info from 3d parties.

Some people wonder why the boat is sinking. In the boat " shots hole in floor of boat and says "can someone tell me why we are sinking".

My sympathies are the widows whose houses they devour and the people of God they make merchandise of. Televangelists don’t want your sympathy; they want your money, that’s why they keep asking for it. Haven’t you figured that our yet?

Must everyone be tarred with the same brush, JimM? I think you are being rather unfair, my friend.

From my personal experience with televangelists (and remember I was on the board of directors of one of them for a decade, made trips to Charlotte NC to be on the PTL Club, have had lunch with scores of them, been privy to their conversations and fundraising plans, etc. ad nauseum), if I am wrong I am not far from it.

The image we see of (most of) them is manufactured and edited for public consumption. We only see what they want us to see, hear what they want us to hear, and, unfortunately, believe what we are fed.

They do devour widows’ houses. Most of their fabulous incomes come from the dollars sent to them by widows, the elderly, desperately poor people looking for a way out of their poverty by sending “seed faith” offerings they cannot afford to a wealthy evangelist just to keep him on the air so he can continue to make merchandise of them. The typical evangelist has has absolutely no personal interest in them apart from what drops out of their envelope. He will never call them, visit them, talk to them, return their calls, or acknowledge them in a crowd.

What I see when I watch televangelists is what they want me to see. They call their programs 'ministry' – I call them religious infomercials. The only difference I can see between a television “ministry” and an infomercial for a food processor is one uses scriptures and the other doesn’t. One will send you a processor and the other will send you a ghost written, cheaply published book.

I’m amazed that people fall for scams like this. But they do it lock step and en masse.

So, no, I don’t think I am being unfair to televangelists and religious networks. In fact, believe it or not, I think I am pulling my punches. What I think is that it is they who are being unfair by the false polished image and embellished press releases they hand to the public.

please tell me you are not saying that you think Hinn and Bonke are on the same level as Christ?! There is only ONE annointed one of God, and that is our lord and savior Jesus Christ. Hinn and Bonke are merely men, servents as we all are.(with gifts of the spirit) Do not elivate them to the level of Christ. I hope and pray that you are not doing so.

What did Jesus do to the religious hucksters and hypocrites of his day? Well, for one, He called a spade a spade. Matthew 23. He certainly did not excuse or defend them.

Maybe that’s where we differ, A. In my opinion, when someone rips off a child of God (the truly anointed ones) I should come to their defense. Maybe it’s the pastor in me wanting to defend the flock from wolves that seek to devour them, even the wolves that wear sheep’s clothing.

God knows the heart of men and perhaps you are underestimating the discernment of believers. It seems you want to impose yourself as their uninvited adviser even to the extent of interferring with the work of the Holy Spirit. I would suggest that you spend your time building up the body of Christ rather than tearing it down. Your justification based "inside knowledge" reaks of "payback" and your one eyed view takes no account of the works that please God

Well, A4C, FYI I do work at building up the body of Christ. I am a pastor. What part of discernment made you to think otherwise? Or are you just angry at me and casting aspersions?

It is my belief that if, perhaps, we would spend as much protecting the victims of fraudulent ‘ministries’ as we do in defending the perpetrators we would see less of these reoccurring scandals in the Charismatic wing of the Church.

IMO.

If the body of Christ was not being attacked there would be no need to defend it from attack. Of course we would expect it to be attacked from the adversary but why is it that we seem to take so much pleasure at taking pot shots at each other. As a pastor you have a responsibility to lead God's people and will be called to give an account.
I have noticed that you do not seem to be too concerned who you aim at. It seems that you think they are fair game as long as they have a ministry that has a bigger budget than yours or perhaps is on TV and has the ordacity to ask for funds to support it. By the way do you take a collection to cover your costs or do you finance your own ministry by some other means.

I am sorry that you feel the way you do about me, A. We will simply have to agree to disagree on this subject.
