Hillary Front Group Media Matters Issues "Dont's" for Blitzer

The Clinton machine has spoken. Wolf Blitzer in moderating tonight's Democrat debate (NB chat) must follow the Media Matters approved script.
Greg Pollowitz at NRO Media has the full list. Here's just a few. The arrogance of these folks still continues to surprise:
  • Don't contradict your own reporting and suggest that Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) "cash[ed] in" on a stock deal in which he lost $13,000.
  • Don't say that Obama's position on Pakistan is "very much in line with what" President Bush says regarding Pakistan.
  • Don't contradict your own reporting — again — and say that Obama, in following legal requirements to count purchasers of his campaign merchandise as campaign contributors, is "apparently using some creative math" and "overselling his grassroots support."
  • Don't misleadingly crop quotes when challenging a candidate's consistency on a particular issue, as NBC Washington bureau chief Tim Russert did on the November 11 broadcast of Meet the Press, when he suggested that Obama has "not been a leader against the [Iraq] war."
  • Don't tell Obama that "t's difficult to say that you're against the war and at the same time not say that you're against the troops."
  • Don't suggest that former Sen. John Edwards' (D-NC) work "for financial markets" might "contradict his anti-poverty message."
  • Don't adopt GOP framing and ask Edwards about his "flip-flop" on Iraq "to win the vote."

I wonder if Democrats will find this less egregious than the staged FEMA news conference, thereby showcasing the double standard once again

Do either of you - or, for that matter, does NewsBusters - have any evidence that Media Matters is a Hillary "front group"? It's certainly a liberal site, but I don't see much of a reason to believe that it leans more towards her than it does towards any other Democratic candidate.

Probably not, since, considering the fact that Media Matters really has no power over these debates, it's really pretty far from being the same thing as the fake FEMA conference. But hey - another nice attempt at stretching the term "double standard" to mean "any two situations in which liberals criticize conservatives."

The Center For American Progress (CAP) needs to create a new front organization for Senator Clinton. Media Matters is getting too much media attention. Clinton's former Sec of the Treasury, whose "Robert E. Rubin" foundation, funds CAP (and, by extension,Media Matters) surely, along with Soros, Ickes, Podesta, and others, has the resources to do better than this.

The list contains suggestions from Media Matters based on previous bias expressed by Blitzer. For a truly arrogant list, read the daily marching orders issued by Fox News to its employees, including "anchors".

Again, do you have any evidence that Media Matters is a Clinton front group?

And, as others said, no one is mandated to follow anything... this is a political commentary in the form of a "not to do" list. Again I ask, do conservatives think, or just react angrily at anything having to do with the left?

Why would Hillary try to improve the image of her competitors? Geez, do conservatives even think anymore or do they just put words together at random and use them to attack liberals?

So, a employer telling employees how to act compares to a media group telling a reporter what to ask and not ask?
Fox may have marching orders for them to earn a paycheck, Media matters has what influence over Blitzer, how? blacklisting?

Looks like Media matters is a Democratic front, not a Clinton group.

I just hope Blitzer just asks real hardball questions.
Let the candidates answer the tough questions,
show how they react under preasure. Rather then answering the question with a padded prepared answer.

Its hard to hit a homerun with a mushball question.

Which card will be played?
Will it be the mean boys picking on the girl?
Will it be the race card?
Will it be taking all sides to every question?

Looks like Blitzer rolled over. The headlines today say

WOLF TURNS 'LAMB'
Hillary's campaign is praising his performance, so he must have caved in.

There is no evidence that anything about the debate was staged. Media Matters issued a list of demands to Blitzer, but there is no evidence that anything about the debate was influenced by those demands.
