Thank You so much! You have been so helpful! I guess I do not do and adequate enough job saying that in German. Another question for you guys. What are the differences between a German, Austrian, and Swiss accent? I am going to Bonn, DE next year and was wondering if I learn to speak fluent German will I be able to pick up on those with accents.
Thank You!

they sure are...but even understanding an Austrian can be very hard if you only speak German :)

it's kind of like the difference between british and american English :) if you are a native speaker you can understand the other but if you are not it can get quite hard....

Austrian German has it's own words and even a few grammar rules of it's own....but everyone here speaks standard German if needed to :)

i think the differences between american and british english is not that big. and i can understand both. i have problems to understand people from scotland and sometimes australia

and i have to confess even i don't understand everything when i listen to someone from switzerland. austrian german is ok but "schwizerdütsch" :sigh:
