This is purely out of curiosity, but how many believe within the near future that the church will need to go into hiding? That survival in the wild may be a possibility due to either persecution or other reasons or mix of both?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

but I know what you're saying; thinking we're still a little ways from that yet.
I don't think about it much, but I know I'm not the only one that has this on my heart... Which is why I ask.

I don't think it is as far off as we would hope. I have a feeling that prior to that the economy will tank and we (the Church) will either be prepared to meet the needs of the people or suffer with it. Either way, we are about to see the "veneer" Jim mentioned be burned away as chaffe.

In suppose you're right. The theology of some is would have them ignore the warning signs and therefore they would be caught in the open.

I still think there are more Christians in this country than non-Christians. We have just become lazy and allow things to slide on by as long as it doesn't affect us personally. I know, at least around here, it would take a great amount of physical force (not some liberal law) to close down the Christian churches and pry the Bible from our hands.
