Hello. I also am pretty far out there, but the theist version lol. I was never an atheist, my bare bottom belief was deism years ago. Anyway, I believe that UFOs can challenge a person who rejects all supernatural phenomena. These objects do not just come in from a certain direction, they appear & disappear, they physically effect equipment (like the 2 Iranian jet fighters that went after one in the 80s, and both jets had their weapon system go down), they have been known to fluctuate their shape, they take off at insane speeds yet do not cause friction noise. They are of a different realm IMO. If they were not it doesn't make sense to me why they would not have taken us over a long long time ago.I'm pretty far out there as far as religion goes, as I'm a complete atheist regarding supernatural phenomena of all kinds.
Really? I did not know that Thor was an apostle. Why do you believe Jesus never existed? Don't you know that His existence has been proven by historians worldwide? Even those who didn't believe he is the Messiah wrote about Him. The calendar used worldwide is based on the birth of Jesus. Do you think it is based on a fictional character?
Hi there! I'm an atheist who enjoys talking to and debating with Christians and others in a mutually-respectful manner. Our outlook is part of what we are, and even if our outlooks are radically and fundamentally different, I think each "side" can learn a lot from the other. I'm pretty far out there as far as religion goes, as I'm a complete atheist regarding supernatural phenomena of all kinds. In addition, after a reasonable amount of study (admittedly as an amateur), I have become convinced that Jesus never actually existed (the so-called "mythicist" position). I love talking about it all with anyone who also enjoys it.
Varily I say unto you tempt not they brother with delights of levened or unlevened bread be it anointed with chocolate, cinnamon, sugar frosting, or sprinkles. Welcome to the boards, hope you enjoy your stay. Always liked the debate forums myself, debated many an atheist. Don't jump into the debate forums head first, it can get contentious. Wade in a little at a time and drop in and let us know if your are having any trouble navigating the boards.Hi there! I know what you meant, but the fact that the years are based roughly on the date of Jesus's birth is not any stronger evidence that he was real than the days of the week are evidence that Norse gods were real or than the months are evidence that the Roman gods were real.
That is a particularly weak argument. Though I am not a mythicist. I am interested in perhaps getting a primer on the OP's beliefs.
Jesus is mention both in Jewish and Roman historical records. Neither of which believed that He was the Messiah.

Yeah, but he added that they too had to have come around by means of evolution, so he just replaced the question of our origins with the question of their origins...Good point!
Richard Dawkins Ph. D. for all his many flaws did make some interesting comments in an interview with Ben Stein a few years ago. Dr. Dawkins admitted... that he could not rule out the possibility of an alien civilization developing on another planet...... millions or billions of year before intelligence developed on earth.
