I am not that exposed to that gay pride stuff I guess being on the east coast. It is not as much in my face. Here are some of my conclusions from the other thread that may or may not apply:

Lastly, I a really leaning toward this person's quote to sum it up for me anyway..

"NO Homosexuals are not condemned by their acts, but by their heart condition if they don't REPENT and ask FORGIVENESS. God died to save us ALL and that includes homosexuals, murderers, rapists, pedophiles, molesters, adulterers, etc "

What have I gained from this? Perhaps have more compassion for these people as it seems they have a strong PULL toward this nature for many reasons. I think as a society, we look on these people as though "who are you kidding, you are a man not a woman so stop acting like one." When, bec of "factors," they aren't "posing", they really have a strong pull toward it. However, if they are following God's word, they should try not to give in and repent! The same with violent offenders. They have biological factors (studies show very high testosterone) and family (or lack there-of) and socio-economic factors which yank them in the direction of being tempermental and violent. Does this excuse them from the behavior, especially if they are hurting people, no. Unfortunately, some are destined to live very tough lives but we must still follow Gods word.

What would help would be less emphasis put on sexuality EVERYWHERE. As a heterosexual, I can't go anywhere in the US without seeing risk'ae (spelling?)on a poster or women flaunting and flirting. I mean it is everywhere! It is all over the toob as well! AND in our music !

I know that homosexuality is not something that you can catch. I know very well that it is not contagious. The thing is that I live in an area that is filled with homosexual residence (actually it is a little over 20 miles north), and I have seen certain gays here literally grope at some of my family members without the slightest fleck of guilt. I can deal with homosexuals if they can respect my body and life as well as those of others.

I live in New England Spock, so I am also on the east coast.

I apologize as well for not making myself totally clear on what I spoke of in this quote that I corrected above.
Also I do not put homosexuals in the same catagory as Rapists, Murderers, etc. They really don't deserve that, and I do, as I said previously, know some decent homosexual people. I just can't stand those who swing their rainbow flags fanatically in everyone's face. If they can be respectful about it I have little issue.

You all are going to think this is weird but I always wondered if God intended those who are homosexuals to be in the priesthood!? That is, never marry and not live a homosexual life-style, just be men or women of the cloth. It was always just a thought, maybe a dumb one, I don't know.

Also, to put my thoughts in context, most of the ones I have met are very private and not aggressive at all. Well, one was when I was naive and 18 but that dude didn't know I took 3 years of M.A. and he landed on the floor hard after a punch in the face, lol. We are still distant friends now though. I like him as a person but he still comes on to me, lol, and it drives me up a wall.:(

I don't think that thought is dumb at all. In fact, perhaps it makes the most sense out of many posts regarding the subject here.
Someone who, by their preference, could not reproduce and then therefore served a life dedicated totally to god and not be distracted by raising children and being married.
Your thought on the subject shows that you have a brilliant mind I feel. Thanks for your thought on why homosexuals might exist.

being "Gay" or "lesbain" is a choice, to believe other wise is to decieve even yourself. In my past I knew alot of Gay folks and some said it was a conscience choice to be this way or some said they were born with it. But I beg to differ on the latter, we are born as creatures of God to make our own decisions. Is a murderer born one? or an Adulterer born to commit Adultery? No. They are all sin... Sin is Sin and all the same in Gods eyes.

    Romans 1:26,27
26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

Now..... What does it mean to be "born again"?
The Bible states that being Born again is to turn away from the life that was previously led.....to be made new!
We are sons and daughters of God not to still walk in the same sin that we did before we knew our LORD and Savior.

If someone claims to be Christian and practice the Homosexual lifestyle, they are STILL living the way they did before knowing Christ,(which is in SIN) then I personally would Question my salvation if I were that person.
I say that because.....If we claim to walk as Christ did and hold his name, we ought to be like he was and do the things he did, if we are not truly changed, then we lie about REALLY knowing our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ. :(

"I was referring to your post about America will do
anything for a buck." O, thanks, I wasn't sure what Sp meant at first. And on that topic, maybe we should have something equicvalent to the GDP like the GCP (Gross contribution Product) How much we as americans gave to others rather than measuring success entirely by $$$$$$$$$$$profit.

jsfrk2, If these people ARE to turn away from homosexuality, they need help. Depending on the depth severity of their lifestyle it may take months or even YEARS to overcome it. Although I might not agree that it is a williing choice always to turn to the gay life ( I previously explained that I felt that homosexuality was NOT genetic, but in fact due to relentless exposure through peers, media, etc) it IS a choice whether they seek to turn it around and tread once again the heterosexual path. To claim that it is 'too hard' or 'why bother' is THEN the fault of the homosexual.

You are entittled to your opinion jsfrk2. But if you think it is not biological in some way you are kidding yourself. I can't choose to be Gay, just like I can't choose to have green hands. Now, if you are talking about choosing a gay "lifestyle?" I'd have to say no, impossible for me. I was born as a heterosexual and obviously NO pre-disposition. Have a little more compassion for those folks, unless I am mis-reading you. There are strong biological factors. I know people who were like this as children with NO influence other than hetero. Although, I agree with your bottom line. I do feel sorry for these folks and not so easy to blast em.

edit: the bottom line being, if God does not want this behavior (whatever it is) wemust NOT do it.

Well I feel that homosexuality is biological not in the sense that one is BORN gay, but rather in that this person is genetically coded with a personality more 'prone' to homosexuality. For example"
a person that has always been easily influenced and convinced may be more likely to become homosexual, as is someone who always tends to be more of a rebel.

You can always look on both sides of the coin spock.
Not all homosexuals paint buildings with triangles and lucky charms rainbows, some you would never guess their homosexual lifestyles. Some are rudely obvious.

Yes, I agree with you BP. I just have a hard time with folks who act like they asked for the dis-order. I think they are truely being honest with their tendencies and the pull to that nature as we are to our own heterosexual nature. For example, if someone came up to me and told me I had to be attracted to guys, I would say "Impossible, never happen." Then I think, what a nasty plight they must have. You know? I am not condoning it, but i try to be more compassionate than I used to be as a result. I think everyone here has made excellent contributions BTW! Great debate and think tank we have going, even if we don't totally agree!!

"Some are rudely obvious." yes. This is troubling. And to me, they are in the same category as people who are straight that exploit women like on these sex sites and stuff. They are taking advantage of some people big time and definitely not doing God's will.
