Stormy, i agree completely. We should treat people lovingly. But please remember that Jesus even got angry. He was angry with the money changers in the temple and what was going on there. He treated them lovingly, but also meant business. Tough love! He didnt disaprove of them, it was what they were doing. Same as here. I love everyone here, we are all children of Christ, and in that, i love everyone here as my brother and sister. But, if someone is stating untruths, it is our or should i say, my obligation to correct them lovingly. It may come off as firm or judgemental, but it is meant from the heart.
Now, as regards to treating people kindly, like stated above, i do and i agree with that. but as mentioned above, you stated why not treat people in our faith the same way. I would, but i expect more out of them. they should know the truths of the faith. and if they go off spatting untruths against the faith, that is where the tough love comes in.
