Hun, I don't think he/she was meaning to poke anything at you.. I think it's more giving you some more guidance to pick the right arguement at the right time. With people like your father, if you want to use an arguement, you must be very careful because they will chew it up for weakness. he'she is not saying you are not in the right with Christ or in psoition before Him

I am really upset about this. The way this thread is being taken is completley not in the vein I meant it in. I wasn't getting into serious knock down drag out fights with him over this issue of Gnosticism. I think I am perfectly entitled to express a sense of frustration when he mentions a historical source I know nothing about and was unable to respond to at the time of that discussion. I'm not going to manage to convince him of Christ's diety....I know well enough that "unless one is born again they cannot see the kingdom of God"--his lenses and worldview just don't allow it and I'm not trying to strongarm him in any way, that'd be totally contradictory to God's love. But the way some of you have responded to this has made me feel very attacked; as if I had done something wrong by having an intellectual discussion with someone and got slightly derailed on one single point.

I know that I know Christianity is the real deal. I have seen and done things that still amaze me and I believe with all my heart and my mind and my strength. And I try to do the same to people around me.
