Wow, the finale was such a huge letdown. The ending seemed obvious, cliche, cheesy, anti-climatic...you name it. So disappointing, but I'm interested in where they go with the show next season.
I thought the ending was a little rushed. It took them all season to draw out all the intricacies of the plot and storyline and did a superb job of fleshing out believable complex characters and personalities all leading to this incredible climatic ending, to have it then just end so easily and quickly. It just seemed it should have been much harder.
It started with Hiro's super fast sword and mind mastery, and I never really saw Nathan's change of heart. As a matter of fact, until he showed up at the end, the last we see of him is this evil look like he's willing to sacrifice his own brother for his own political power. Then the episode just ended in a blink of an eye.
When Sylar came face to face with Peter in the final showdown, I thought that would be the end of the seaon--what an incredible cliffhanger that would have been to keep people on the edge of their seats waiting until the fall.
Obviously, however horrible Sylar was, we are left with the impression that he was just a single individual and small potatoes in the grand scheme. Molly gives use a clue that there's someone much worse. Although I thought perhaps she meant Issaic because when she tried to find Sylar, we saw flashes of Sylar supposedly being able to look back at him.
