1) Even if he let the bullet drop, he still would have the wound. That is just as much a problem as the bullet.

True that, still that maybe would've made him stronger than Claire in that sense or maybe Claire can heal others and just doesn't know it yet. Or maybe I'm just full of speculations

Regardless of that, I too thought the season finale was a little rushed or somewhat lacking after all the buildup, but I won't be missing season 2 and I definitely will buy season 1 when it's released in August.
