I really enjoyed last night's episode. I'm so curious to know how saving clarie will save the world. It's also interesting to see how they are all slowly coming together, but I can't wait to see what will happen when nikki confronts herself.
I like this show, but I'm almost afraid to fall in love with it for fear of cancellation.

This show is so well crafted. I have seen comments by nay-sayers, but it really is a good show even if you're not into comics or episodic dramas. It's just that well crafted from the editing to when scenes fade to the telling of the story mixed with foreshadowing of what next weeks episode will entail. It's a lot like Lost, especially it's first season.

I bolded the part of you quote because I feel the same way about intelligent, quality first season shows. As the broadcasts trot out more reality and game show based garbage, it's disheartening to get into a great new show only to have it cancelled. I'd mention Arrested Development, but it got several seasons to find it's legs, the other "killed before it's time" show that I regretted falling in love with is Andy Richter Controls the Universe.

Anyway, 5 shows in, I really like Heros and hope NBC keeps it around.

Just found this thread - yay.

NBC picked up the back nine episodes, so it has a full-season order now. This is very good news and means the network has faith in the show. So I'm not worried about cancellation at this point. Also yay. :)

Glad to see some of my favorite people posting in this thread!

Last nights episode was so awesome! The show is getting better and better every week.

Claire is my favorite, but over the past few shows I have to say that Hiro and Peter are growing on me a lot. Hiro is just cool all around. He's got a cool personality and he's the kind of character that just grows on you. Peter is really awesome because he can mimic other people's powers, that's gotta be awesome to experience.

Yay!!! I am sooooo glad this thread has finally caught on!! Thanks for all who have posted so far! :)

There is a full 22 episodes for season one confirmed. (source: TV Guide) It is such an awesomely addictive show! If anyone posts spoilers, please make sure to put spoiler tags. If everyone has seen all episodes up to now, all the powers of everyone are pretty evident, except for Micah. Yes, Peter is a mimic, kinda like Rogue, except he don't take their strength or life force, just their powers when in proximity to another. Oh... so much to contemplate....:D:D:D Looking forward to lots of conversations!

I have loved Hiro and Claire from the beginning and I think they're why I got hooked on the show. There's something about a petite blone cheerleader who would, in any other show be a gum chewing, hair twirling bimbo that is indestructable and walks into infernos to save people that I can't resist. The Future, English speaking Hiro with his soul patch and samurai sword last week was just too cool. Again, normally a short Asian guy would be comic relief, but he seems to have the most power of any of the mutants.

The only question, apart from general "what the heck is coming next" ones I have after this last Monday's ep. is did Peter's completion of the painting plant in Isaac that he can do the paintings without the heroin. The strung out visionary thing is interesting, but - and I hate to be a prude since I'm not - but I'm concerned about it sending a pro drug use message.

And for those of you wondering about Niki's power, she has the ability to be two places at once basically. While it hasn't been fully explored, it appears, from my armchair analysis, that the has an Id/Ego seperation going on so that her "other self" is more sexual and stronger physically than she is thus the killing of the the goons and the interlude in the Vegas hotel.

Working nights I have to make choices about what I record for the next mornings viewing and Mondays, my choice will be Heros.

Yes, I agree, and I also thought all along, that Isaac has the power to see the future without the heroine. He just has been strung out so long, he don't know how to tap into it yet. I would say it will be even stronger when he gets totally clean. But Peter absorbing his power and using it without the drugs proves it.

I don't think that Niki can be in 2 places at once. I think her alter ego is apart from her power, not the power itself.. I think it is mostly superhuman strength. The alter ego comes from some sort of life happening that she couldn't deal with, and when she is threatened, "Jessica" comes out. (that is the alter's name).

Heroes isnt showing in Australia yet. I'm not sure if it ever will. Dad has got the first four episodes off of work mates. Does anyone have any idea where we can download the 5th episode?

NBC.com appears to be providing the shows for download after each episode airs. Tell your pop to keep checking the NBC website and it will probably be availible immenently.

Aside to my American and Canadian friends, but do you ever feel like a spoiler when you post comments about U.S. shows when you think about Australian or U.K. residents who might not see them for a year or three or more?

Ok.. I started a Heroes thread after not finding this one, but I'll post in here too. :) Last night was cool.. I dont' think Claire's dad is a bad guy. I think he was probably working with Chandra or something. But anyway, I think he just looks shady, but will turn out to be on the good guys team.

So what'd y'all think of last night's episode? This has got to be one of the best shows on TV right now!
Heroes is a great show, and last night's episode was cool. However, LOST is the greatest show on TV right now. :)

My favourite part was finally being able to see Nathan fly. I wasn't expecting it to be so awesome... I mean, for someone who's JUST learned that he can fly, he seemed to do it like a pro.

I was watching the episode really late and was kinda groggy, but can someone explain the wierd deal that Nathan had made with the hotel manager in regards to the $4 million incentive for him to run for senator and the sex tape that we "knew" was going to be made of him? I don't get it.

Yay for the LOST shout-out. :D

As for Nathan, here's how I understood it. The mob folks want a politician in their pocket. To make sure he stayed in their pocket, they got the blackmail tape of him having sex with Nicki. They paid him $2 mil to get him to do what they wanted. Once he realized how valuable he was to them, he blackmailed them for more money, saying that $2 mil gave them a candidate in their pocket, but $4 mil gave them a senator in their pocket. In other words, I need more money to ensure my win, which you guys want too because obviously you really need me.

Ahh, thanks for that explaination. It's funny how I tune out depending who's on. I'm not so interested in Nathan, but it was great to see him fly, and referring to what Redguard said about how well Nathan knew how to fly- is it possible that flying is something he knew he could do? I mean, he saw his brother falling and flew up to help him out- whose first inkling would be to do that? Of course you want to help, but Im not sure how quickly 'let me fly up to help him' would come to mind.
Did anyone notice that when future Hiro came to Peter he said- you look different without your scar.
I wonder what will make that scar he was talking about.
There is another Heroes thread- I wonder if that thread and this one can be merged.

I heard that too. I thought it was pretty cool and I'm curious as to how Peter receives this scar of his.

Hiro was speaking as though the catastrophe has already happened and now he's violating the temporal prime directive in an effort to prevent it from happening.

My question: JUST how far in the future is he coming from if he now knows how to speak perfect english WITHOUT an accent?

I also wonder how much damage the nuclear blast caused. Was it just NY that perished? Did radiation spread around the world, sparing just a few? Has evolution sped up, resulting in more people genetically inheriting special powers of their own (I ask only because I see now that Hiro is sporting a nifty looking sword, which I'm guessing he uses to fight people with advanced abilities).

I still don't see how the sex tape "benefits" Nathan? Or did I hear him incorrectly when he was talking about the tape?

The only benefit I can see is that now he knows how important it is to them that he stay in their pocket, if they would go to those lengths to ensure it. That allowed him to get them to pay another $2 mil to his campaign. When he first found out about the tape from Nicki, he seemed really upset about it.

Actually I never realized that it could take that long. So, no, I haven't thought about it? I should watch out in the future.

Peace.

PS. At least now people can watch the episodes online.

So, has it been verified that he really is married with two kids? Or was he just joking around?

He seems pretty relaxed right now for a guy who could possibly have his wife and children see him on tv in some really smooth kama sutra looking position with Nikki. *blush*
