• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Here's the pattern....

Any thread started by a Catholic questioning or pointing out errors in Protestantism is derailed and closed. It's quite easy, really. All you have to do is start fights that proceed into flaming, personal attacks, mocking, baiting, way off topic posting, etc.

Consequently, there are now numerous anti-Catholic threads that dominate this fora. And you can't even point that out without the thread getting closed. I must congratulate some of our Protestant brethren for their crafty tactics. We Catholics should take a page out of your playbook! I hope we don't, however.

Now, the big question is, how long will this thread stay open?

Sorry you feel that way.
I tried to discuss errors with you on the first thread
you started.
And that offer is still open.
One error at a time would be easier though.

It's a joy to me to eradicate error in fact.
We have the Spirit of truth in us, so who
wants error?

So what might be something I believe that is spoken
against in the Bible?
I can think of one thing that is a maybe and I'm trying
to figure that one out.

But go ahead.
I love truth, even when it's not comfortable.

sincerely,
sunlover

OK...I'll bite.....

I am new to the 'study' of religion. I have always called myself christian, but never really asked a lot of questions, so maybe this is an opportunity.

What exactly is the difference "simplified please" between Protestants and Catholics?

the first 1500 years of Christianity is missing.

Normally, I'd suggest starting a new thread since you're inviting a new topic and highjacking threads is a no-no. But I doubt you'd get ernest, honest responses. If you want to know about Catholicism, try asking in OBOB under Congregation Forums.

That depends on how contemptuous it gets.

I would recommend that you take Catholic specific questions and ask them in OBOB, Orthodox specific questions and ask them in TAW, and for the numerous Protestant divisions, to their specific denominational forum. YOu will get better answers than you will here.

When the Word is spoken and present it can indeed get "temptuous" :)

Ezekiel 38:19 And in My zeal, in fire of rage of Me, I speak: If not in day, the-that, shall become a quaking/07494 ra`ash, great, on ground/0127 'adamah of Israel?

Matt 21:10 And of entering Him into Jerusalem, is quaked/eseisqh <4579> all the city saying, `Who-any is this?'

Matt 27:51 and lo, the vail of the sanctuary was rent in two from top unto bottom, and the Ground did quake/eseisqh <4579>, and the rocks/ were rent.

I am more partial to this one:

[bible]matthew 10:34[/bible]
AS long as, if you profess to be a follower of Christ, you remember this:
[bible]1 peter 3:15[/bible]

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
 Thanks and an excellent passage!!!!!
I was just thinking of that one and I use to use it a lot on the GA and NCR boards when debating the "heathens"

Personally veritas I think your one of the top anti-reformist skilled at inciting the flame wars simply by taking challenges to your doctrine personal, and then constantly indicating some kind of disdain for males by degrading your conversation to testosterone comments.
BTW what's the topic here?

THere is no topic. NOt a theological one, anyway. YOu want us to stay on topic, which for all intents and purposes, is how often we get off topic?
Scott post your banner for her as well, that is if you wish to be seen as fair...:D

Please, the spirit of Christ has been indwelled in believers since pentecost. People like the theif never needed all the sacramentalism your church preaches...

Cuz Catholics stay rational and on point. We actually try to answer their "questions" no matter how baited and loaded they are.

Amen!

I ask a question and am accused of baiting and then they never answer. How can you have a conversation when the other person gets answers from you and they refuse to give answers?
