How about it Bob, do you actually "keep" the Sabbath? Do you turn your foot from doing your own pleasure? Are your thoughts and words centered on Holy things for the entire 24 hours? If not you are just as guilty as were the Israelites who could never "keep" the day. IS 58:13 “If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath
and from doing as you please on my holy day,
if you call the Sabbath a delight
and the Lord’s holy day honorable,
and if you honor it by not going your own way
and not doing as you please or speaking idle words,
14 then you will find your joy in the Lord,
and I will cause you to ride in triumph on the heights of the land
and to feast on the inheritance of your father Jacob.”
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken."

That seems to be the best test for Sabbath observance. It does not include going to church as part of the fulfillment of the keeping of the Israelite only Sabbath. ellen has much more to say if you believe she was a real prophet. The day became so prohibitive that it really was not a pleasure if they even attempted to observe it like the admonition was from God, then you add ellen to the mixture and the whole mess becomes a real burden. I know because I have been there and done that.

Exodus chapter 20 verse 10
but the seventh day is a Sabbath to tho Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates.
Exodus chapter 35 verse 3 Do not light a fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day.
So if you want to follow the Sabbath you can't have your stove on or refrigerator, because that would cause people to work, or do you just want to keep a little of the Sabbath, which brings me to my original post.
Galatians chapter 3 verse 24,25,23 So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith now that faith has come we are no longer under the supervision of the law before this faith came we were held prisoner's by the law locked up until faith should be revealed.

1Jn 3:19 This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence:..... because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. 23 And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.

Never does John tell us anywhere in his writings that we are subject to the 10 commandments yet Bob would have us all to believe wherever we see the word commandment there has to be a 10 before commandment. This is false and there is absolutely no light in his posts. He is trying to lead us astray.

In fact Paul tells us the 10 commandments were temporary commands handed to Moses by God. They lasted until God revoked the covenant made at Sinai.
