I started taking some herbs in drop form they are Chinese and particular are Taoist formal. They are all all natural.

My thoughts are I take enough pills and was lacking energy rather than have a doc prescribe a pill for me, I decided to go natural. When i was in training i took ginseng for energy it worked, my teacher showed me the power of herbs when i need surgery after a car wreck and docs could not get the swelling down to operate. My teacher gave me two herb balls, I ate one one day and the other the next the 3rd day all swelling was gone. I went to the doc and He was amazed, we had surgery the next day. Herbs had done what modern medicine could not.

So my energy problem, I tried to find a biblical way, so I started taking large doses of honey daily, but that did not help, so I fell back to what I knew Ginseng, problem is ginseng by its self wireds me out. I am talking pure ginseng not that crap you find in a drug store, and not that crap in pills but liquidized drops. 8:1 ratio, expensive yes I found a store which i could get them and saw something for the mind so I tried that as well. The combination has work great, with a little adjusting the dose.

So what is the thoughts on herbs, I mean if medicines are ok would not natural Herbs be better? Problem is they are not cheap. Thoughts?

These conversations often get out of hand but folks need to learn to learn. I take a hand full of different poisons every morning and every evening to slow my deterioration down. I have, multiple times, refused to take the, preferred, dosage of medical heroine, morphine. Funny thing is though, I accepted the Tramadol. I was informed it is all natural and is a result of the research with Snake, Spider and Scorpion venoms. Once, in an ambulance, the EMT hooked the IV and shot a small Hypo full of what he termed, a new artificial Morphine.

These natural drugs, excluding the Heroine/Morphine, do not make me high or goofy and i like that. With the MS comes a wide assortment of failures and my wife and daughter have me on a few Herbs and because I can no longer empty my bladder without cath., I drink Cranberry Juice every day to keep the infections under control. God gave us natural cures and we have learned to cheat and to make imitations from an assortment of poison chemicals. I like natural medicines.

Look up dragon Herbs online on there page go to dragon drops. they have a wide selection to help with a lot of things. there most expensive is 395 for 2 oz but that is not common but private reserves i would stay away from them unless your rich.

The other stuff ranges from 25 to 55 a bottle. This are quality Herbs i take them and have experience with them, they have a section were you can pick what is wrong with and they will recommend something, they also have a herbalist at there number if you call. I prefer drops.

Yes, herbs work. Learn which ones do what. Me and my wife have been living holistically/naturally for over 10yrs now. We even used to run a healing herbal market for a few years. But the resession/depression put the kybosh on that deal. But we have never stopped using herbs to address our health issues.

I don't want to get into diagnosing or which herbs work for what here. But I will say that they do work. You just need to study them for what they do. There is a natural remedy for just about everything. In fact, before BigPharma came along in the last 100yrs peoples only choice was to use herbs. Even more of a fact, BigPharma monoplized this till they realized they could manufacture their own drugs. Now they try to negate any natural remedies for their newly gentically modified compouds. Adding insult to injury they get in bed with Monsanto and genetically modify the orignial herbs, then ...license them so we can't grow them. They are not 'natural' so they are not 'free'. You can't even grow them without paying them... OH don't get me started!

Yes, use herbs, they work. Not as a replacment for "ALL" man-made compouds, but a good first choice. Meaning, if you need to take a certain medicine that is helping you without adverse effects, good, keep it up. But if you can find a natural herbal alternative, DO IT!!! :)

No problem. We used to purchase online from organic wholesalers. There are a few that used to sell hand-gathered herbs. Not sure how they faired in the resession though.

We used herbs and infussed them in oils. You brew them for a month or more and then strain the herbs out and use the oil. We focused more on topical than internal. But we obviously use herbs internally ourselves. Yes, they can be expensive today. But once you walk out the McDonalds and get used to the fresh air of the trees its very hard to get yourself to go back into that restaraunt and smell the fried grease. We stopped using unatural foods for so long I can't eat it anymore. It makes us sick and we break out. Most my family has become allergic to wheat and dairy products. I believe 'they' have completely messed with the food for so long that when you stop using it and dry out, if you go back you experience very visiable side-effects. I even had to stop shopping at Trader Joes because every time I would treat myself to say one of their natural scones or muffins I would break out with rashes on my skin. Stopped eating it and they disappeared. Now all I get there is the kosher chicken. ^_^

i would love for there to be a store which carried biblical foods. All natural. I would love to see the west accept herbs as doing real good and regulate the industry and have insurance cover it as an alternative.

My Herbs are 65 for two bottles which will last me about 2 weeks. There are other Herbs I want but can not afford everything i need, but insurance will cover the doc to write a pill for me. I take over 10 pills a day I am 38, they are killing me, This is just crazy.

Herbs are just plants that the Lord made. If they help you medicinally (and are legal), go for it. I've tried some types for my MS, but haven't found anything that specifically helps me (so far!). I will keep trying though.

A word of caution... In all the research I've done over the past several years about how to eat, medicate naturally, etc. I've come across many, many people who are completely obsessed with herbs, specific foods, etc. and actually think that they might just find some magical combination that will be like the fountain of youth. It's really, really easy for this stuff to become an idol instead of just a healthy part of caring for your health and body. Balance is vital.

ETA: And as SaphireOwl said below, it's important to investigate exactly what each herb does to the body. Make sure you know of any possible adverse reactions, especially if mixed with other meds. For instance, one that I tried a few years ago to lessen chronic inflammation worked great, but also thinned my blood. So when I had a small medical procedure done, it wouldn't stop bleeding, and the doctor was quite concerned. That's the kind of thing we need to be cautious of.

Herbs are medicine. They were the first medicine in fact. But they have to be respected as such. The best thing to do is learn about herbs and find out what you're taking and why. Don't just buy a tincture because it is said to be good for this or that what ails you.

Years ago I had an abscess tooth. Before anything could be done the swelling had to go down. The Dentist prescribed antibiotics and I instead went to the herb store.
I used a triple combination standardized extract capsulized herb remedy of Echinacea, Astragalus and Reishi Mushroom. Three capsules three times a day.
In three days the abscess was not even noticeable. The swelling was gone and my tooth could be fixed. My Dentist commented on how effective the antibiotic was. I had to tell him I never filled that prescription.

Herbs are in the Bible.

My fathers mother was Cherokee, he grew up using the herbs they gathered in the mountains of their home in southeast Kentucky. I regret that as a boy I came home from school thinking my dad was a "stupid hillbilly" as now I realise who the stupid one really was, me. He wanted to teach me to gather ginseng, yellow root, and a whole other assortment of what at the time I considered weeds. He ate dock, and pokeweed, he said it helped with his allergies. I do remember chicory coffee, sassafras tea, using wild mint for sore throat, and chewing willow root for a tooth ache. But there was so much more, and it went with him to the grave in 2005. My family though has moved on to growing the majority of our own food, as well as selling pasture raised chicken, and other meats. But I do believe when God said he made it all for our good, he meant it. People have been living off the land for at least 6000 years, and those of us who have studied history know, in spite of what the so called professionals say, many folks up until the last 50 to 100 years, lived well past there 90s, not in nursing homes either. The man I bought my farm from was born here in 1918, I bought the farm from him in 2005, he had been farming it until 2002. And the day he moved out in 2008 at 90 he was riding his 4 wheeler. He grew up off the land using natural remedies. My great grandfather, a Jew, lived to be 115, my great grandmother a cherokee, lived to be 103

Surely you could talk to your doctor about this sort of thing rather than self medicate?
A naturopath perhaps, but regular western medical doctors know zero about natural remedies and are discouraged from learning anything other than what big pharma has to offer. In that regard, it's a terribly broken system.
