There is this woman that I work with. She is the nicest person, but she is very atheist. She lives with her boyfriend, who she has a child with. She has stated many times that she is not religous. I feel so convicted to help her and help her learn the way of the Lord, but I am not sure how to go about it. I am afraid that she will think I am trying to tell her how to behave, which I am not. I just don't want to know that she will be in hell when she dies.

Remember that sort of thing can create major problems in a workplace enviornment. Desi has it right-- I myself was lead to God by someone who never spoke about her faith until I asked her about it, she just lead such a calm and graceful life, even in the worst chaos. As St Francis once said "Preach the Gospel at all times. If needed, use words."

St. Francis was right on the money...and so are you Desi. Faith in deed is worth infinately more than faith in word, or in thought. Jesus chose the cross in order to draw all peoples to Himself. Jesus' words are not the most compelling thing about Christianity, it is the cross.

Etienne,
Just be your natural loving self and people will be drawn to that. They will want to have the same contentment in their eyes as they see in yours. And without even a word being said you will have inspired a person to turn back toward their Father. God would not start your fire unless He intended to draw people to you, so that you could point them towards Christ. The most beautiful thing about our relationship with Christ, and through Him with God, is that we all share in the labors..we all have a hand in it..that's how things always work out..We are the light of the world..Jesus' light shined so that we could have light, and now we give that light to others, and so on and so forth.

good luck and God bless,

The best way is to do witness indirectly with your life and actions. Slip in comments from time to time, but make them encased in loving kindness and focus on the positives most of the time. Most who are aware that they have no religion are not going to be receptive to a standard witnessing session where you lay out all of the facts of what God has for us. You have to get your foot in the proverbial door with your actions before you can progress to a more indepth witnessing session. God will lead you to this person when they are most receptive. Until that time, soften them up with love, kindness and small Scriptural truths slipped into conversations.

God bless you and your coworker,
Dave
