Good morning,
I know that I am not a part of this forum but I am in need of help. My spiritual life is a mess. I have spoken to several ministers in my area but it is the same rhetoric over and over, the questions are still unanswered. I need a fresh perspective, one that will enable me to find my way back home. If any of you know a web site or someone associated with this forum that might be able to help please let me know. Thank you.

Hi, I would like to help. But I'm not sure what your issue is exactly. If you need to talk about it, please go ahead and message me here. There should be a link to my own site in my profile. There you will in turn find a link to my forum and my email. Plenty of options, if you would like to contact me on the matter you mentioned. :)

Oh lets see, …conflicts *looks around*. You have a faith icon but don’t attend a Church, that can cause conflict within ourselves. Second, you have selected pretribulation and old earth which generally conflicts since pre-trib is usually dispensational while old earth is generally associated with some form of evolution or another (usually a post-trib choice).
So, what to do? http://maps.calvarychapel.com/

Thanks to all for responding. To be honest it is most difficult to ask for help-maybe it’s a man thing. Anyway during the last seven years my relationship with Christ has been anything but consistent. To give a brief history I have been involved with church from age 1. I accepted Christ and was baptized at age 7 and my background was Baptist. Roughly seven years ago I experienced several wonderful spirit filled events. My testimony was so strong for a short time. I felt a boldness and passion for Christ that I had never known. Somewhere along the way I lost this. To this day I still don’t know what happened but that zeal died and sadly I started to question my beliefs in Christ. I started questioning the validity of the one called Christ. How can He be a man and the son of God? The church that we were attending split causing pain and hardships for many. For myself and family it got worse. Work became ultra demanding / we were having a great deal of trouble with our son and much more. Because of the pain, pressure and lack of direction I all but gave up. I started attending a Shul and have been for some time. I don’t feel that this is the answer, the void is still there. Spiritually there is little warmth or light to be found and my faith has been shaken to its foundation.

I don't know what your situation or specific problems are, but I'd suggest not going to all the AIDS & PEOPLE to try to get back where you were.

GO TO GOD DIRECTLY. That's part of our problem, we substitute everything else for one on one RELATIONSHIP with Him. I'm guilty of this myself (in ignorance).

What did Jesus say to the church who lost it's first love? (Rev. 2) Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

REPENT first. THEN do the first things you did.
What do you do when you're in LOVE and that person is your main focus & thoughtlife?

Go back to the basics. I think we keep using THINGS & aids & pep talks & etc. instead of just getting on our face in repentance & prayer.
REAL deep prayer with sincerety.

I feel for you in your situation, I've been there & we're all susceptible to being there. God bless your journey back. :holy:

I've been there. About ten years ago a friend attacked me terribly. They said terrible lies about me, tried to get me fired from my job and nearly destroyed my fellowship with my church, I lost a lot of friends that just didn't trust me any longer from what was said. She know my life's surroundings pretty well and visited each part to inflict damage. This was all over a bunch of flat out lies and I am still uncertain why she did that to me, and I know I'm not imagining it, she admitted to me that she was lying about it all. For about five years after that I hardly went to Church, the damage was done and since I had no proof that they were all lies, I was in doubt among many.

You seem to maybe be playing it safe too, sort of like I did for some time. At least you are struggling with the existence of God which can be answered by reading some factual books, for me I was just a bit [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]ed at God for a time... nothing wrong with that but it does not help any. Loosing friends is always hard though, being alone sux, but God is always there with you even if you are not aware... and He is probably more so there with you during those times.

Yeah, like I suggested, getting back into Church is a good move. Maybe you are feeling bloated? You take a lot in but you don't have an outlet to put it back out? That would be like helping out at Church or something, as we take in the word, if we don't apply it and use it in some way we feel fat and unhealthy at some point.

As for some books to read, some good ones are:
