  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello all, I have recently been exposed to a podcast through my brother-in-law,(a podcast is like a radio show, but through an ipod) and I feel that the individuals responsible really need our help to find Christ, praise his name. I suggest you all subscribe and listen for yourselves to hear what I speak of. The male host is some kind of ex punk rocker who has a young child (which is why its so important we all help him) and his female cohost is a homosexual!!! These people really need God's help to change their lives. Subscribe for free at the itunes store, its Return to Sender under podcasts. There you can leave a review telling them how Tyler told you they need to saved. You can also contact them on facebook (Return to Sender:Junkmail of the mind)and tell them the same thing, Tyler sent you to help save their souls. Thanks and Amen.

Jesus said to do the great commission and share it. Christians don't force and/or enforce. No one was ever talked into christianity. A seed is planted and God with his holy spirit saves them IF their heart wants this-its a free will basis. God does the saving.

Perfect love is not about force. Corithians 13 describes perfect love.

Hello. I am new here and while I am very spiritual, I am not affiliated with any religion. I oppose all people who have the audacity to believe that they may force their beliefs upon others. It is vastly inappropriate to force any personal beliefs upon any other person. That was not the way of Jesus Christ and acting as such isn't in accordance with Christianity. I believe if a person is to follow a religion, they should look to the fundamental aspects of that religion to create an understanding of what it is about. If there is a God, I don't think he would want his children (followers) to preach their devotion but go against the ways of their God. And if I may ask, as an agnostic person who seeks answers just as any other person does, why is homosexuality bad? There are many homosexual Christians in the world, are they to be rejected by their God because of the gender they are attracted to? I thought Christianity was about love and tolerance, isn't being against homosexuality a contradiction? I intend no disrespect in asking these questions, I merely wish to better understand something I don't know a lot about. Thank you

I think you all read his post wrong. I don't think he is trying to impose any religion on anyone. I think he is just trying to introduce the Holy Bible and Jesus Christ to the people he mentioned above. Even if you aren't Christian, there is nothing wrong with preaching what you believe and telling others what you believe is important.

I agree that no one should force someone to believe what they believe but at the same time I don't think there is anything wrong sharing what you believe.

On another note, do you think everyone should think that it is inappropriate to "force" their beliefs upon others? Wouldn't that be forcing your beliefs on others?

If I am reading his post incorrectly, I apologize. Though, if you read my post closely I did not say he was doing any of the things I said I oppose. I understand that he truly wishes to help the people he is talking about. And it is completely within his right to proclaim his beliefs to anyone who will willingly listen. I hope he does, because it makes the world diverse and there is nothing wrong with believing what you do and sharing it. I posted my comments because I do not think going to people and trying to "save" them is the best approach to being heard. Information upon request, in my experiences at least, is almost always better received than information upon personal desire to give that information. The difference in expressing your beliefs and putting your beliefs on others really depends on your intentions as well as the desire of the person involved. If they wish to hear your beliefs or don't care either way, then there is no harm. If you are simply expressing your beliefs and it bothers them, then its not really an issue either because you are both are staying within your personal rights to do what you want as long as it doesn't curtail other's rights or cause harm. So, if the website has a place where people can write reviews and he wishes to recruit other people to post their beliefs there telling the people they need to be saved, then its still within their rights to do so. I was expressing my belief that expressing your beliefs specifically to change another persons behavior, because it doesn't coincide with your beliefs, isn't appropriate in my opinion. But its still MY opinion and anyone may reject it. In reply to "callmeMurph"'s, if you noticed, I simply stated my beliefs about what it inappropriate. I never said anyone should believe anything and I have no problem with people believing whatever it is they wish to. Furthermore, I recognize that every person has their own definitions of what is "right" and "wrong", "appropriate" and "inappropriate" and I'm very ok with that.
