I am going to Honduras this summer on a missions trip and I have a few questions. What should I say in my testimony, I mean how do I begin telling someone that has no clue who I am? Also please pray for me that God will give me the words that I need to say to them. I am not usually one to be worried about what other people think of me, but that may matter when I'm down there.

Just relax, don't stress over what to say. Just like anywhere else, the things to say will come as you need them. Some times you might have more time to sit and share than others.Sometimes you might be talking to kids and you'll use a simple way of telling them.
It is only the enemy that is trying to make you feel inadequate right now. But that's okey, GOD is ALWAYS your strenght -not you!! Pray and listen to the Holy Spirit and He will direct your every word!!!

Remember that you will be a curiosity to native Hondurans. That will start breaking the ice. Be friendly and smile a lot. Let God open the doors of communication for you. Loving the people is the main testimony you have anyway. God said to love Him first and your neighbor as yourself. Do not feel that your testimony will save anyone else. It saved you. "Do not worry about anything but in all things make your requests known to God and the peace of God that passes all understanding will guard your heart and mind in Jesus."

The best testimony anyone could give is how they came to know Christ. Personally, for me I was a ostrasized(still am to this day but who cares, if God is for me, who can be against me?) overweight 14 year old who was suicidal and angry at everyone, especially my parents for the Divorce. Also DON'T WORRY. ...but do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, 20for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.(Mt. 10:19-20). Just pray before hand and rely on GOD, that's what your trying to exemplify anyways. I'll be praying for your safety and an impact on the people from your group.

Come before the Lord, repent and obey. Pray for guidance and above all when you are sharing, share sincerely and openly with the people. They do not want to hear from people who are super spiritual, because most Christians just want to relate to other Christians. And if you come across super spiritual they will feel weak. So humble yourself before them and go to them in your weakest state and allow them to see that your only worth is in Christ....when they see that they surely can not help but be attracted to the one you serve. Make sure the focus is completely off you, you are unimportant in this, they must see the living Christ, and how he has saved you.

I hope you have a good trip, it will be an experience for you. I am sure when you get out there the Lord will give you the strength to do his works.
