Hello everyone, Im in a Grade 11 English Honors class, we are debating "Creation vs Evolution" I being a Creationist jumped at this chance. If anyone Could give me Points for Creation, and Points for Evolution (so i know what im up against) and possibly how to Cross examine them and rebute them. I would be Very very happy. (Prayers would also be nice)

There's no way to refute evolution. Basically your teacher gave you a doomed debate, which will probably turn into some mockery of religion, since you're DEFINATELY aiding in that respect by supporting creationism. Basically you have to pray that the other side doesn't have someone who knows 1/5th of what Lupasca does (which is pretty likely actually) and didn't really do their homework.

On a personal note I must say I hope that the evolution side is competant; it's always a shame when YEC think they're right because they won a debate.

He's not necessarily doomed to lose. I managed to win a debate in my government class arguing that YEC should be taught in public schools as a valid theory (the class was putty in my manipulative hands ; I had to tell them afterwards to not regard seriously a thing I had said). It is a shame, though, that the teacher gave them a topic that is not worth debating...

Not worth debating! I think it's highly worth debating!

One thing I think evolution has going against it is that they have no fossils showing the changes in the animals through the "billions" of years. You might want to do some research on carbondating. (I'm unsure of spelling)

As for creation I'm trying to look up all of the predictions in the Bible that have been made and that come true and are coming true!

:prayer: My prayers are with you! :prayer:

( Ps: When I'm doing research I like to listen to worship music and I thought you might like it too! )

 Good Luck!

Fair enough.

Fossil intermediates

Check my first post here for bird/dino transitions. Can you tell them apart?

You might want to do some research on carbondating. (I'm unsure of spelling)
I have a sneaky suspicion that I have done more research on C-14 dating than you (and other radiometric dating methods as well for that matter)

As for creation I'm trying to look up all of the predictions in the Bible that have been made and that come true and are coming true!
Neato. Got any good examples I can use?

Do you know what my avatar is Krazeekkc?

You are aware that carbon dating has little to do with evolution? You will not see many significant evolutionary changes over the sort of period it's useful for.

As for creation I'm trying to look up all of the predictions in the Bible that have been made and that come true and are coming true!
You do realise that this has nothing to do with evolution as well?

The first thing you do is NEVER use Hovind's stuff. It will simply make you look foolish.

Second, check out this website, it has all the Creationist arguments, as well as some of the standard responses:

http://home.earthlink.net/~misaak/guide/list.html

Third, check out the "arguments Creationists should NOT use" list put out by the leading Creationist group, AIG. This list can be found here:

http://www.answersingenesis.org/home/area/faq/dont_use.asp

Lastly, for the sake of Christianity, NEVER say that if evolution is true, or the earth is billions of years old, the Bible must be incorrect and thus we can not trust any of it. This will create more atheists than the theory of evolution every could.

Actually if you win can I suggest that the entire class take the debate to the science and evolution forum? Or this forum (just saying there because some very intelligent members don't post here). It would be funny to win a debate, then have the other side watch as Lupasca (with help from others) demolish the "winning" side.
