  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I live in Boise, Idaho. I am new, so take it easy on me. My question for all readers is: do you ever feel like we Christians are thought of as ignorant or old fashioned because we don't approve of homosexuality and other things that used to be shunned but are now "tolerated." I feel like Christians are becoming increasingly isolated in this anything-goes world. Am I alone or does anybody share this sentiment with me.

Welcome to this forum. I hope you like it here. I guess that I'm a old fashioned Christian like you. We should all remember to hate the sin, but not the sinner.

rushko81,

Hello and welcome.

I am vary aware that Christians in general are thought of as ignorant by the rest of the world but the funny thing it is those who are of the world that are the ones who are ignorant. God has set up a standard by which we are to live by, which is found in his Word the Bible. Society will constantly change and change “norms” but the “norms” set forth by God are constant and are never to be changed.

As for feeling alone because the world sees a Christian as ignorant and “old fashioned” the only advice I can give you is surround yourself with other Christians. I for instance hang out and make friends with other Christians. Now I am friendly and loving toward non-Christians but generally I do not hangout with or form all that deep of relationships with non-Christians. The reason for this of course is because God is apart of my very being and day-to-day life and I cannot keep him out of my relationships with others.

Good luck to you my friend and I will pray that the Lord provides you with good Christian friends that you can associate with an build lasting relationships with.

Hi there...rushko81 No you are not alone my friend! You live in a beautiful area of America that is unfortunately rife with scepticism and unbelief concerning the commands of Jesus Christ. It is also a town saturated with Mormon doctrine and thinking...and if Dave Bieter is still the major of Boise I suggest you make a turn at his office and bring a Word from the Lord to him that will strike to the heart...perhaps take a visit to Fred and Abigail Phelps and ask them to reconcile with Dave and pray together in the name of Jesus in the mayor's office. If you work this by the Holy Spirit not via human intellect alone, you'll start some serious talk in your town about the power of God. Do not try to debate the Bible intellectually to win souls, especially those trapped in homosexual bondage. They're crying out for a miracle to experience the love of Jesus - deliver that and you'll be doing just fine!

Go for it!
