  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi everyone, I am new to the forums. My name is Max, I live near Denver, Colorado in the US. I am a husband and father with 10 kids (blended family; 8 biological, 2 step kids). I am a Catholic that is now on the outside looking in since I am divorced and remarried outside of the Catholic Church. So struggling a bit with where I fit in. I have been a few other denominations along the way as well, so pretty well versed in Christendom as a whole, although I would like to explore some of the Eastern Orthodox spirituality a bit more..

I have a podcast called Your Prayer Life that helps people who are struggling to find time with prayer. I recorded all of the Psalms and am now publishing three podcasts a day for Morning, Midday, and Night Prayer. It is a more ecumenical take on the Liturgy of the Hours if you are familiar with that, which takes you through all of the Psalms each month. Just show up and press Play! Not sure if I can share links on here but here goes: your prayer life

If you all have any suggestions or feedback (criticism welcome) let me know!

Peace to all in Jesus' name,
Max

Welcome! I often find myself praying the Psalms when reading them, and thankful for the way they say the things I want to say to the LORD.
