Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Zao, as tale goes, God directly ordered the Isrealites to commit genocide. Saying that he was forced to do this because adam and eve sinned is saying that God is powerless even over his own actions. As I don't believe in God, that does not offend me, however there are many people who think that God is quite powerful and I imagine not just a few of them would take offense to that notion.

God is Just... would you think a judge was just if a murderer went in front of the judge and said hey, you're a good guy, just let me go....
Now, of course, the murderer knew it was wrong, but he did it anyway.

God has given us all a chance to be saved...it's our choice to either believe or not believe...

Love-n-Blessings!

Depends on what the Judge says/does.....
Now, of course, the murderer knew it was wrong, but he did it anyway.
Not sure what the relevance is here.

My theory is that... well God didnt choose to punish or "torture" , if you will, man... Man decided to be tortured when adam tried to basicly over throw God.
Man..other than your being out in left field, Adam was too innocent to even have thoughts of over throw. If you remember, Adam was tricked. And for Adam being a sucker, we are paying the dues. And that's called Justice?!? Shesh!!

The difference lies in the degree of punishment. Last time i checked, the jail, while it can keep you for life, cant keep you there any longer than that lifespan. Hmmm 65 years vs Eternity.... no comparison. Anyways- the judge doesnt say if you dont believe in me you will suffer. also, we have the option of different laws in moving to a different country. Now the obvious response to this is yes, some laws are the same. but then again, the majority of the population will agree that certain things are wrong. Murder for example, which is one reason the analogy doesnt work, b/c that 1 is punishable by both christian and society-set standards. the choosing which laws to follow works a little nicer, imho.

So god is afraid of satan? Does this mean that satan is more powerful than god?

A God who condones eternal suffering of innocent souls (and yes, humans are MUCH more innocent than fundamentalist Christians portray them as) is not just. Especially if he only loves Christians.

But there can be nothing wrong with not believing, because there is nothing logical to base these beliefs off. I really can't be expected to believe in God based on what I know.

Can't you, really?

Well, you can be sure God will take all into account, and the veredict will be just.

Check in Genesis 3: 6. Adam was with Eve when she was deceived. God told Adam not to eat. He disobeyed, that's notinnocent.
Yes, we pay the dues, cos we would do no different. (without hindsight.)

So...adam ate and apple, and the most just punishment god could think of was to slaughter hundreds of thousands of innocent women and children? I'm glad our current rulers are not just.

So you know what I'd do if I was in that situation? Oh right, of course you do Ms. Clio! ;) besides the fact that I love snakes and would probably just have tried to keep him instead, if i was in paradise i'd be sleeping or swimming all day anyways, plus who would go for the fruit with all those yummy lil critters running around? :yum: :yum:

Sooo... you decide you do not believe in trucks. That does not take away from the fact that if you go & stand in front of one, you won't get splattered.

There is evidence for the existence of trucks. They are not something that requires belief.
