Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Jonah, not Scripture. Jonah. It wasn't what the narrative said. It was what Jonah said. Not God. I like that you took it out of context:

From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the Lord his God. 2 He said:

“In my distress I called to the Lord,
and he answered me.
From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help,
and you listened to my cry.

Where does the Scripture say Jonah was? In the fish. I prefer to accept things IN CONTEXT, not taken out of context. The methods you just used to prove Jonah died were used to prove Jesus wasn't really God by Arius.

Taking my post out of context because...Well not explained, but possibly because of hatred for what the Scripture says
Scripture says:

From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the Lord his God.

Do you not believe Scripture to be telling the truth?

So let's edit the Scripture to match YOUR narrative:

From inside hell Jonah prayed, and then later he prayed this:

Jonah was speaking. He was saying what he felt. It does not follow, in ANY logical way, that his statement overrides the verse before. Either the verse before is correct and you are wrong, or Scripture is lying and you are correct.

Jonah said he was in hell, while actually being inside the fish. Occam's Razor. The explanation with the LEAST assumptions is the most likely to be true.

I love how you cut out the "out of the belly of the fish" part. So I guess that isn't really in Scripture. It's a lie. Good to know. Now I'll just throw the entire book out of my Bible. Thank you for proving the book of Jonah isn't really Scripture because it lies when it says he prayed only out of the belly of the fish.

I am currently talking to you from the International Space Station. Does my saying that make it a true statement?
