So all the Christians have it wrong on this huge issue? If they worship an invented God that you say is evil, what will become of them on Judgment Day?

I don't see how you're coming to these conclusions. I never said anyone worshiped an invented God who was evil. You asked me what the lake of fire is. It is Gehenna, the valley of the son of Hinnom which is outside of Jerusalem. What I said was that the concept of Hell in the OP is not what the Bible teaches. The Bible says that the wages of sin is death. There is nowhere in the Scriptures that God, the Prophets, or the Apostles, teach that the punishment for sin is eternal conscious torment.

Second Temple Judaism. I don't have to address those points when you spit on academia. You're just another anti-intellectual so I'm inclined not to talk to you.

I didn't spit on academia. I accepted their claims with no rebuttal, so it would be accurate to say that I swallowed instead of spat. I only ask why you didn't address all of what I said. I think this is because it is irrefutable. Did I hit a nerve? The truth hurts.

So you don't think it would be evil for God to send billions of people to a place of eternal, unimaginable torment? Why is this?

No, hell is not like endless days of anything. It is rather, nothing, instead of something truly great.

So then you don't believe hell exists? Then your contributions are off topic as defined clearly in the OP.

Oh, it's real, just not the place it is thought to be. I have spent most of my time considering heaven and the reality of eternal heaven vs. some timeline verse of heaven. Time and eternity are greatly different. Most of us have trouble translating our perspective of things from a time-based reality to an eternal none-time-based reality. Instead of "I was. I am. I will be." it is simply, "I am." Just how that applies to the biblical description of hell, I must confess, I am not completely certain. I suspect, due to the nature of God's expressed intent, that there is no eternal hell existence, but that evil and her children go the way of sin and darkness...which is quite simply eliminated from existence.

As for the original post, I consider eliminating evil and her children, sin, and darkness...just.

You believe hell exists? But you have said it is nothing. Your words, not mine. If a place is nothing, then it doesn't exist. Your claims are nonsensical.

I did elaborate, but what you are trying to do or ask, just doesn't fit the omnipresent nature of heaven or hell. Neither is a place...as such.

He said that it is "rather, nothing, instead of something truly great." That is, something of little account, something minuscule such as illustrated in The Great Divorce.

Your constant propensity to snub academia, known facts, and the obvious interpretation of someone's words is a remarkable reflection of unfettered bias and anti-intellectualism. It is like watching a child at recess clutching for cheap "gotcha" moments in order to etch out the most base sense of superiority.

(I haven't the slightest idea why a troll would be allowed to participate in the forum which most abhors trolling, even by its explicit agreement.)

You keep changing your terms. What is hell? Are you referring to Hades, Gehenna, or Tartarus? All three places are translated as hell in the KJV.

Hell is the place of eternal torment that you don't believe exists.

Can you give me some evidence for it? As I said, there are three different places translated hell in the Bible and none of them are a place of eternal torment.

Why on earth do you think I care to give evidence for that? Go make a thread in the controversial theology forums.

Do you understand how debate works? If you make a claim you have to prove it. You can't just make up a story and expect people to refute it. You said, "Hell is the place of eternal torment that you don't believe exists." Your claim is that there is a place called hell that is a place of eternal torment. Unless you can prove that it's nothing more than a than an opinion.

So you are saying hell is eternal regret?

Please explain why we deserve that then.

I believe the Bible states Hell is eternal fire,

it's fires are supernatural and physical and a blend between.

they can engulf the persons bone, marrow, and the soul itself.

not only feeling pain in your nerves on your skin cells, but cold dark isolation and bitter torments in the emotional soulish level as well.

it's a horrid place even to mention.

Go argue with Christians. I simply don't care to discuss your Mormon-esque spin-off of Christianity. Particularly when such a discussion constitutes hijacking of this thread. Particularly when you dodged my question earlier.
