Exactly but immediately we are told that tradition trumps truth. That is why the elites, be they secular or religious, have always prioritized controlling the narrative, their narrative. That is why we need to be careful.
Careful about Dante’s writings? In all honesty, people should meditate on the four last things, including Gehenna/Hell. It will do them well, and there really isn’t anything wrong with it. One thing Dante illustrates in the Inferno is it is not a place you want to end up at. So focus on what you need to stay away from it.That is why we need to be careful.
In the dark ages. When did a poet's writings become doctrine?
So you are saying Dante was influenced by that which took advantage of his work? Amazing how a controlled narrative can become self nourishing.Which part of Dante that wasn't doctrine before Dante became doctrine afterwards?
Dante's portrayal of the afterlife in the Divine Comedy, particularly his depiction of hell and heaven, has had a profound and lasting impact on Western art, literature, and culture. His vivid and imaginative descriptions of the punishments and rewards awaiting souls in the afterlife have inspired countless works of art, including paintings, sculptures, and illustrations, as well as literary works by other authors.Which part of Dante that wasn't doctrine before Dante became doctrine afterwards?
Ok so Dante is not a Bible writer. I think that is very true -- the things he made up originate to some extent - with him.Dante's depiction of Hell in his literary work, "The Divine Comedy," is not found in the Bible.
Agreed. He was a very creative writer. While the Bible does contain descriptions of punishment for the wicked, such as the "lake of fire" in Revelation, Dante's portrayal of Hell includes many elements and levels that are not described in the Bible.
I think they call that "syncretism"Dante's vision of Hell is based on his own personal beliefs and experiences, as well as the teachings of his time, which included both Christian and classical sources.
amen. His depiction of Hell is primarily a work of fiction, intended to convey moral and theological ideas through vivid imagery and allegory.
Very true! Therefore, the concepts and imagery of Dante's Hell are not explicitly found in the Bible, and his work should not be interpreted as a literal representation of the Bible's teachings on Hell.
Didn't they used to call that false witness or perversions or corrupters or counterfeiters or something of the like? Artistic licence is now theology and tradition?Dante's influence on Christian theology and spirituality cannot be overstated
Indeed - evolution has a doctrine on origins much more suitable for someone withe a non-God world-view-
It is kind of like how sciences creation has been brought into the Bible to usurp, God's true creation description found in The Bible.
I love that text.Matthew 10:28

Well I would not go that far. There is a lot of observable science when it comes to biology, physics, astronomy, aerodynamics, computer science, engineering, medicine etc that is proven to be reliable. This involves more than just evolution. This is about all of God's creation described in The Bible, science lies about all of it.

Fake stores about how a bunch of prokaryotes will come up with a rabbit or a horse given "a sufficient amount of time and chance" is just very poor story telling and is really bad couterfet doctrine on origins as compared to the Bible.

I have seen the bottomless pit in a dream. I was falling and falling with no bottom. Later I found out that this was a volcano that was not active. But it becomes active in the book of Revelation.Where is "Hell" found?
