Correcting the opening post, ONE scientist prepared ONE paper on abiogenesis, not biological evolution. Abiogenesis is a very young science and it is nice to see more work being done, right or wrong.
That having been said:
Shapiro's data, reasoning and conclusions and the falsifiability of the information contained in his paper will be discussed and analysed by others in the very young field of abiogenesis studies for months, if not years to come.
There will be debate and perhaps (or perhaps not) consensus that what he said is supported by enough evidence to allow others to research along the lines he has, or it may be thrown out entirely.
I wonder if there is a name for this sort of thing? Uuummm, science, yeah, that sounds about right
