Jesus did defeat the devil, who had the power of death.
But if one is not "IN" Jesus, that victory is not transferable.
Only those who maintain an allegiance to the devil, will be destroyed with him on the day of judgement.
Hebrews 2:14 that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death. / Col 2:15 Jesus disarmed the rulers In heavenly places / Rom 16:20 Jesus crushed satan under his feet. Those verses seem to disagree with the statement “ Jesus did defeat satan it is a fact but no place does it say that it is not effective if you don’t believe that he did. Just as scripture says 2 Cor 2:15 Jesus died for all , therefore all died. Jesus died for all , now most do not come to that reality until the next age , but just because most don’t walk in that reality now doesn’t negate what has been done.

Even when God Himself is quoted as speaking you would rather rely on your own assumptions/presuppositions? Most unfortunate.
So you believe God has hands ? And Jesus is a sheep? When I read what has been posted it seems that is what I see you saying.

Jesus did die for all, but if we do not submit to Jesus, we will be destroyed with the devil.
Jesus died for all, but if we don't submit to Him, that victory is a moot point, and won't be manifested in our lives.

So when scripture says “the hand of God” or when Jesus is called” the lamb of God “ do you really think God has hands and Jesus is a sheep? Scripture has symbolic, metaphorical, and figurative language throughout and we are all trying to figure it out. God being jealous is just that not literal but one of the others. If you don’t know Gods character and nature it is much harder to come to the correct conclusions.
God said He was jealous more than once. It is somewhat possible that is symbolic etc. but until God Himself states otherwise I will understand it literally. "Hand of God", "lamb of God" depends on who is speaking. If it is a person, very likely figurative, etc. If God or Jesus is speaking see previous reply. Re: God's character IMO you are the one who needs to learn.

So are all other translations wrong?
IMO many of them are. Especially translations produced by certain "denominations." If push comes to shove I might be persuaded otherwise but it will require credible, verifiable scholarship not the usual e.g. "Scholar 'X' said aionios never means eternal." See e.g. the BDAG, Bauer, Danker, Arndt, Gingrich Lexicon of the O.T. and BDB, Brown, Driver, Briggs Lexicon of the N.T. which I have previously posted. BDAG represents approx. 120-160 years of combined scholarship. BDB approximately 90-120 years of combined scholarship. Both have been extensively vetted by numerous institutions and scholars.

Read it again it depends on who is speaking.

Either Jesus defeated satan or he didn’t, you can’t have it both ways.
That's merely getting the cart in front of the horse.

Satan remains the "god of this world" to this day easily realized by any glance at the endless acts of evil we are still immersed in in this world.

I agree somewhat with your ultimate conclusion, sans temporary torture for people and devils, preferring the understanding of ultimate and permanent defeat for Satan at the end, in the infamous LoF.

I might even add that part of the reason we continue in these somewhat vain exercises is not to convince other people, but to deride Satan within them all, and us in the process.

When we uphold the law for example, we do so not to make people good, but to make Satan even more pronounced:

Romans 7:13
Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.

1 Cor. 15:56
The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

Jesus found devils in the priests of the temple, because that is where the Word was sown. John 8:44

When man ate of the Tree of Knowledge, the Adversary did not enter into man. Man just became aware that we and the entire universe was made up of opposites. Good and evil, necessary as all creation is comprised of opposites. We learned of dual nature, something other species seem unaware of. Rather than continuing to do the will of God which held these opposites in perfect order, we chose to upset the apple cart and choose for ourselves what we desired, throwing not only ourselves, but creation out of balance, even calling evil good and good evil when it suited us. We became takers rather than givers.

Without us, the universe would go back into balance but for some reason God sees us as salvageable. Our flesh is temporary but understanding (or lack of it) of the error we make in our selfishness, determines our usefulness to the Kingdom to come, a culture contrary to the world we have made in our own image. Jesus made it simple to come to God's wisdom over our own, with four duties for us to adhere to if we wished to proceed to the next level of consciousness. Put God's will first over our own will, thus loving all as self, acting in servitude to all in need, including enemies. Repent/change from our self-serving nature, and spread the Gospel of the Kingdom, a counter-culture which is clearly explained in the Lord's Prayer. His Kingdom will come and His will will be done in earth as it is in Heaven... not ours. We must return to servitude, not only to God but to each other. Tell that to the world and see how it reacts.
