You're saying the entire Old Covenant is insufficient, which would mean that God made empty promises. I expect that when you make a statement like that that you are capable of backing it up. Yet you only dodge the question giving a blanket statement that does not address the question.

You really need to finish my sentence. The Old Covenant is insufficient in comparison to the New Covenant. God sent His Son, the Old Testament prophesied about the time the Messiah would come. There is nothing wrong with what I said in it's full, truthful context of the entire sentence. Next time please include all that I said. Thanks so much

exactly that is why better is used about 13 times in hebrews.

It was also with the people, not just the priests, and God knew all along that they could not keep the cov.

Our Hebrew Roots friends are asking US Christians questions. They seem very interested in the scripture we are sharing with them. It is indeed a blessing to us, you've even asked a lot of questions. I hope that you have gotten something out of the thread too.

The requirement that the high priest be a Levite is what is made void by the fact that Yeshua[Jesus] was a Judean. That is what the entire chapter is talking about. CONTEXT!

What is the Old Covenant and what is the New Covenant?

The new covenant is with the houses of Israel and Judah. There are no Gentiles mentioned. Jeremiah 31:31, Hebrews 8:8

Your post is in error, the new covenant (Matt 26:28) is in Christ and with those who come to him in faith because they are united to him in baptism as the apostle says (Romans 6:3,4). And the new covenant is not of the letter which kills but of the Spirit who gives life (2Cor 3:6).
