Have You Met a Star?

This could have been put in a number of threads, so I just plunked it here. Has anybody ever met somebody famous? They could be a movie or TV or music or literary star. Just anybody who's name is instantly recognizable.


I've met the movie start Jeff Goldblum. He sat next to me on an airplane. I've also met Steven Curtis Chapman. He performed at a youth conference I attended and allowed people to come up and talk to him afterwards. Both men were very nice. If relatives count, then I've kind of met Frank Peretti's brother. He preached at a church I was attending and said he was the inspiration for Hank in This Present Darkness.

I met old movie star Tony Curtis, Cyndi Lauper, Brian Wilson from the Beach Boys, Angelica Houston, Stephen Baldwin (he came to my church), Angelica Houston and Haley Joel Osment.

My moms-second cousins-husbands-brother-is best friends with Dave Matthews! He does the lighting! I hang out with my my moms cousin and husband every summer. They are so cool!

...I told him "You look like Judd Nelson" he was like "ew, that creep?" and I'm like "How do you know he's a creep have you ever met him?" He said "well, have you read what the papers say about him?" I was like "Do you believe everything you read in the paper? I love his movies! Anyway, you look like him, though" and he was like "I AM him!" and I go "No you're not!!" and he had to pull out his ID to show me cause I didn't believe him! That was hysterical.

Jason Alexander...I ran down the street like a lunatic when I saw him and he looked a little afraid of me at first then I said "I'm not a freak!" he laughed and I said: "I just wanted to say 'Thank you' for making me laugh for eight years!" he was truly pleased and shook my hand!

I almost met Brian Denehy(sp?), he played in Cacoon, that Steven Spielburg movie about aliens coming to earth. But my manager stole my oppurtunity.

I served Cecil Fielder (baseball star) and I didn't even know it.

I forgot, you can also include sports stars. I've met some of the Denver Broncos. I used to work in an airport and they were flying to a charity event on our flight. It was funny because I didn't know they were football players. I just saw these bulked up guys and thought, "They must be football players" and so I asked.


I also met Tony Orlando the same way. That story is even funnier. All the older ladies who worked for our airline were twittering "Tony Orlando!" and so they gathered at his gate to get his autograph on several copies of his boarding pass that the gate agent printed for them. Us younger workers had no idea who he was and so the older ladies were disgusted and explained. What can I say? I gave in to the mania, grabbed a pass, and also got an autograph.



My co-workers said they saw Sean Penn and Cheech (from Cheech & Chong) on our flights. According to them, Penn was really surly but Cheech was very nice.

Oh, and one of my co-workers used to work in a smaller airport in California. He said Matthew Perry (from Friends) used to fly out of there all the time. One day he came in early and asked if he could bump up to an earlier flight. That flight was full, so he just hung around and chatted with the agents. My friend had an idea and Perry went along with it. They dressed him in a blazer with our company logo on it and put him at the counter to pretend he was checking in customers. It was hilarious. People would come up and ask, "Are you..." and Perry would say, "Nah, I just look like him. People ask me that all the time."

I met Shakira once. Or saw her. It was a at mall, face to face. She looked pretty small...height, I mean. It was before her whole new blonde thing, and way before she got known here.

Unfortuantely, I haven't met anyone before. I almost met Mark Martin (Nascar driver). My brother met his favorite Nascar driver, Ricky Rudd. My cousin, Brandon, has met and even went to school with, Wesley Snipes (Blade). My cousin said he was jerk. *shrugs* Also, my uncle Don, who lives in California, he played a backround person walking by in some movie with Harrison Ford...can't remember what one though. Anyway, he got to meet Harry and said he also was a jerk, which isn't surprising. Everybody knows Harry Ford is a jerk.

I went to go see By the Tree in concert. Maybe 20 people showed up and I got to meet the Band. and My mom is a cashier at Wal Mart and she checked out Ben Stein. She gave Him His change. He gave it back said He didn't need it so She says She Won Ben Steins Money.

I forgot, I also served the drummer for Jimmy Buffet.

And I use to live in the same apartment complex of the Orlando Preditors. They are an arena football team. Alot of those guys played in the pros. I use to play basketball with them, and one time I went to there super bowl party they had (cowboys vs bills).

I had to gaurd the full back one time playing basketball. He was shorter than me, and he looked like The Bus Jerome Bettis(sp?). But I was no match, he would post me up, bump me, and dunk!

I played basketball with alot of college players, no one famous.

I met Bill Clinton once. It was when he was gov of Arkansas and came to meet somebody we knew at the hospital.

I once was asked if I was the brother of Travis tritt, and being in a funny mood I told them yes.

I work with a guy named Alan Jackson and know a local city PD guy who is named Robert Goulet. Not famous, but their names are. Ironically Alan Jackson does kind of look like Englebert Humperdink.
