  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

No my feet aren't used to all the sharp stuff nature provides. Flip flops were the closest I got and those were a bad enough idea.

Have you ever gotten a shoelace caught in the gears of a bicycle?

Oh yes. And for this one the full story.

I got a mountain bike and my first real ride I went out to Cheeseboro canyon and rode dirt road. Less than a quarter mile in I got my bootlaces tangles in the gears. I backpedaled and freed them up, slick job. But I had been looking down at the gears. When I looked back up at the road there was a nice fat rattlesnake less than 15 feet away crossing the road.

I happen to know which end is which and there was enough space to pass behind it.

So of course my question is:

Have you ever had a close call with a rattlesnake?

Yes, though I don't know how close. I'll give you the story. It was the 4th of July and I was up on a hill to watch fireworks. Of course it was dark when all was done, so walking back down the path (without a flashlight) we heard the tell tale rattle.

Fortunately for us, cars were driving by so we chased a car down the hill a bit to get to our car. I know the snake was close enough, but how close is uncertain.

Have you ever petted a snake?

Of course. What kind of person catches a snake without then petting it to calm it down?

Have you ever had a 'wild animal' as a pet? (Snakes count, but not limited to snakes)
