House Dems plan to force Russia votes

The are innundating the systems with request from everything from Russia to the Presidents tax returns.

Quote: But the Democrats are determined to force more votes - even if they don't go anywhere.

Meanwhile they are stonewalling 80% of Administration nominees for vacated positions and blaming the President for it.

How long will this go on before it blows up in their face?

Wouldn't it be more beneficial to their party if their platform had more than one plank?

ANd before there is an explosions of "but Trump" replies.

I am 100% in favor of a complete and unbiased investigation so we can finally get on with the business of running the country.

With the President or not.

Personally I think it will explode in the DNC face.

Of the 554 positions requiring confirmation, as of Saturday, 473 have no nominee, 35 have been announced but not formally nominated, 24 have been nominated, and just 22 have been confirmed thus far, according to a database put together by the Washington Post and the nonpartisan Partnership for Public Service. (WHO'S RUNNING THE GOVERNMENT? Trump has yet to fill 85% of key executive branch positions)

That's at the 100 day mark, has the situation changed? Are the nominees being blocked or are they simply not being made? How is this the responsibility of Democrats when the Administration is simply not nominating them?

As of last Friday, here are the numbers:

564 positions requiring senate confirmation.

Out of that number:
370 have no nominee
7 are awaiting formal nomination
139 formally nominated, but not confirmed yet
48 confirmed.
Compared to the previous four administrations, he was WAY behind on nominations for the same time period. The closest to Trump's numbers was George HW Bush, who had 148 confirmations, and 95 nominated but unconfirmed.

For comparison, Barack Obama was at the top of the curve, and had 201 confirmations and 154 awaiting confirmation.

That's my point and thanks for the update. This isn't the Democrats preventing the Trump administration from getting the nominees they need. The nominations are simply not being made.

"Hislegacy" appears clueless that the Republicans already have majorities in both the House and the Senate, therefore Democrats are not in a position to "stonewall" healthcare, tax reform, infrastructure or Trump appointments.

As for Trump Administration nominees, the bottleneck is that the President is having difficulty attracting competent people to fill these positions (I wonder why?) and others were late in submitting the proper paperwork.

The Senate could always forgo their summer break to make up for lost time but that would be in the hands of the Republican leadership.

Secretary Of State Tillerman has been reportedly furious with the White House for vetoing a number of potential candidates that he has submitted!

Yeah, but blaming the Democrats makes it sound scarier than "Trump's nominating people too slowly and it always takes time to get these people through because they have to go to committee first and then go to the full vote. With all the recesses Congress takes, this stuff takes time".

OOOHOHHH DEMOCRATS!!! wooooo!

It's already exploding in their face. They're 0-5 in special elections, have a lower approval rating than Trump himself, and the more they keep pushing this false narrative, the democrats will continue to lose.

They have no leader. They have no message. And America, for the most part, doesn't care about the Russia story. That's why outlets like CNN are WAY behind in the ratings and they talk about Russia more than anyone.

What people care about is the economy. Health care. Infrastructure. Tax reform. And the only reason why this drip, drip, drip keeps happening is to keep the Trump administration from focusing on the things Americans want done

I can honestly say, with what knowledge that I have about resolutions, that if the situation was reversed, siting Dem. president, I wouldn't blame the Rep. if they were asking for the same information.
I think the impeachment bill is premature and will not pan out anyway. They need to wait for the investigations to be concluded. I also think they are taking a chance of being made to look incompetent. I noticed there is little backing for that bill among the Dems. themselves.

"Saucey"may want to put on a brave face but its the President, his "inner circle" and the Republicans in the House and Senate that are their own worst enemies!

The Democrats didn't make Donald Jr., Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort, all senior members of the Trump Campaign, agree to meet in Trump Towers with representatives from the Russian government in the hope of getting "dirt" on Hillary Clinton!

The fact that 6 months have passed without one major piece of legislation being enacted by Congress, despite Republican majorities in the House and Senate, is not the fault of the Democratic minorities!

You are right, of course. There is but one goal and it only that the Democratic Party cares about and has cared about for the past eight months--overthrowing the government. There is nothing surprising about all of this if you know their intentions.

The only thing you said that I'm not entirely on board with is the comment about it blowing up in their faces. Each failed ploy could further alienate the party from the people, but not necessarily so. Not so long as they have the mainstream media to run interference for them and explain away every would-be scandal that turns out to be nothing.

I ran a little experiment at home this week. I blocked out CNN and MSNBC but I sneaked a quick peek every once in awhile. The result? In this week when there has been all sorts of news to report, especially with the president in Europe, not once when I took a peek at either one of those stations was anything being talked about other than Russia+collusion. Not once.

Please do not think you can take us for fools. If the Republicans did not face united Democrat/Socialist opposition from 48 members of the US Senate, there would be no problem at all in securing enough votes to pass all sorts of legislation. In the House, where the GOP has a majority that cannot be filibustered or defeated by three Republican moderates bolting for their own reasons, almost a hundred bills have been passed.

Once again, this thread is about the Democrats doing nothing but running interference.

8 months of here a colluding there a colluding and no evidence.

Zero. Zip. Nada.

Even their own leadership is saying so, yet they use it as a rally cry to disrupt the administration.

How many of those were things like naming public buildings, post offices, and parks?
How many were important in effecting peoples lives?

I just simply disagree with you. And that's perfectly fine. Trump has signed over 50 bills now, and many of them are having a major impact on our economic upturn, cutting regulations, and adding trillions of dollars to the economy.

In a mere six weeks, Trump and his Republican allies in Congress have rolled back 90 regulations.

And they’re just getting started.

Business leaders are cheering. “Relief is finally on the way,” says Thomas J. Donohue, president of the US Chamber of Commerce.

While the media obsess about Russian conspirators, people who actually make things for a living — whether burgers, bridges or buildings — see that the real story unfolding in Washington, DC, is the unprecedented pace of deregulation. It’s helping to fuel the stock market’s record-shattering optimism. And just in the nick of time.

http://nypost.com/2017/03/07/trumps...-have-already-set-off-an-economic-revolution/

Not only is the Dow Jones industrial average sitting atop the 20,000 mountain for the first time ever, and both the large-company Standard & Poor’s 500 and tech-dominated Nasdaq sitting at fresh record highs, the real story is the $2.2 trillion in paper wealth created in the Wilshire 5000 Total Market Index since the close on Nov. 8.

By that measure, Donald Trump is Wall Street’s “$2.2 trillion dollar man” – as Trump’s “America First” economic agenda and quick out-of-the-box start towards getting stuff done that he promised to backers has been instrumental in reawakening the so-called “animal spirits” of investors.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/markets/2017/01/26/trump-wall-streets-22-trillion-man/97067334/

I know it's better for you to sit back and think Trump has done literally nothing, but anyone who believes that is simply WRONG.
