Not at all. We know what God says is sin. Some want it not to be sin. How that becomes prejudice is beyond me.
No, it is a different interpretation of the Scriptures.

Have you even seen the other interpretations? they are very logical.

AGAIN, you quote biased translations. Go debate someone else, you are as circular as I have ever even seen. You would rather believe you are correct in your thinking, it sickens me.

Prove the bias- I have asked this a couple different times- the english translations show a consistent message from what I read.

No He isn't...just your interpretation of the Bible is prejudiced, hateful and discriminatory.

So now you are admitting that you believe I am prejudice, hateful and discriminating, because I don't agree with your interpretation of the Bible?

Interesting.

Interesting.
Why are you turning this personal? I believe your viewpoints on it are, I never said you personally are a hateful person or anything like that.

Kathy, come on...why would you even suggest I would think you personally were that way? This viewpoint on this subject is so beyond ridiculous, because it doesn't make sense. If someone can find a gay, monogamous relationship or sexual orientation mentioned in scriptures I will drop my arguments. It's not going to happen, because the Holy Spirit has already set me free from this doctrine. We are made this way, it's just the way it is...the Church needs to deal with it, or we will just start more gay, bi and lesbian affirming Christian churches. That is how they get started...people get kicked out of leadership, like the Church I'm currently attending.

How many of those churches are there?
There are 28 denominations, I'm not sure of the actual physical church total. I didn't really have to search hard, and I found 4 within 30 mintues of my area. In rural areas, I'm sure it's more difficult....

Yeah, I'm sure Mainstream Christianity will be changing, or at least in a small way (hopefully). It needs to happen...the most important thing (we should all agree) is not about homosexuality. It is for the SOULS of homosexuals to come to Jesus!
Whether this is a sin or not is of little importance, compared to becoming a child of God.
Right now they don't feel accepted at Churches, and rightfully so...the Church doesn't even need to see them as not living in sin, but to at least acknowledge their right to hold their viewpoints, and welcome them with open arms!

You said the above to someone, who from what I can tell, has the same interpretation of the Bible as I do on this issue.

If their interpretation of the Bible is prejudiced, hateful and discriminatory, then what does it make the person who believes it? How could they or I not take it personal? Come on Dave, look at what you said.

Well a spirit may have set you free, but I am not sure it is the Holy Spirit, but you already know that.

I will say again you should check and see what else they believe, because some of the churches you mentioned also don't believe the Jews are God chosen people anymore. They don't believe they will be grafted back in. So just because you found a church that will go with your interpretation on the issue of homosexuality, well you better check and see what else they believe. That is if you believe the part of the Bible that tells us they will be grafted back in, in the last days.

Come to think of it, I believe I have heard that that part of the Bible has inconsistent interpretations also.

Usually, it means that, for whatever reason, they are a person who does not believe that the Bible is subject to the same rational examination that we subject the rest of our lives to.

I never said you personally, so why are you making this a flame argument? clearly you are making something about human emotion and mixing it w/a doctrinal belief.

Kind of like cherry picking chapters, isn't it?

Proverbs makes it quite clear you are to slit your own throat if you are partial to gluttony. "I take the Bible literally"...did ya take the Bible literally when you ate 5 hot dogs, 2 Ice Cream cones and 5 snicker bars? LOL

I agree. I was a rebellious sinner for eight years, and I was let in and loved and welcomed in church to worship Jesus. I don't see what the difference is? Maybe I should rephrase that... I'm still a sinner. I am not perfect, except for Jesus Christ. Remember God causes the increase in our hearts.

SavedandHappy1,

I don't see Dave as believing that God's chosen people, the Jews, will not be saved in the last days? How do you know his church is teaching that?

Exactly, the Church I go to is very conservative in all beliefs, but they believe sexual orientation is not a sin to be gay and act upon your love for someone in a committed, monogamous relationship. That doesn't make them liberal, it means "freedom for all", I guess that is still liberal, since that is a liberty. :)

You will find churches that condemn homosexuality like mormonism, that don't even believe Jesus is the one and true God, so there you go.

But many Christian churches also condemn that. Mainly, they don't think ti a sin to be homosexual, jsut to have sex outside of marriage. Most non denominational, Assemblies, etc. are like that.
I used to belong to a Foursquare church where the deacon said he was gay, but isn't anymore. I can't say he is lying.

People changing sexualities does not convince me that it is a sin to act upon same sex feelings, one way or the other. We still don't know how many gay people that have converted weren't really bisexual to start, and just were able to amplify their opposite sex attraction.

It isn't an argument one way or the other...
