  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Actually, I thought there already was a third gender.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hermaphrodite
Hermaphrodite is the term used for beings with both male and female sex organs.
Maybe transgender covers this if the person was born and changed at that time, or maybe they should consider having a fourth gender too.

Actually, there have been people that were neither male nor female for a long time. Intersexuals are born with ambiguous sex organs.

"Is it a boy or girl?"
"Uhhh, let me get back to you on that."
wikipedia said:
An intersexual or intersex person (or organism of any unisexual species) is one who is born with genitalia and/or secondary sex characteristics determined as neither exclusively male nor female, or which combine features of the male and female sexes. The terms hermaphrodite and pseudohermaphrodite, introduced in the 19th century, are now considered misleading and stigmatizing, and patient advocates call for these terms to be abandoned. The phrase "ambiguous genitalia" refers specifically to genital appearance, but not all intersex conditions result in atypical genital appearance.
Everybody should be happy they exist. The more people that can be hated and discriminated against, the better.

Hi, FadingWhispers3;
What becomes acceptable at america's top universities will influence what is acceptable elsewhere. As non-chistians, this may not strike you as important. As a Christian, I see what is an abomination in God's eyes becoming something that is taught as acceptable to 4th graders. I also see a day when it will be considered a hate crime for me or someone else to teach what God says clearly in the Bible. Like it or not, this is an issue.

I just don't understand why Universities should be upholding Christian (or Theistic for that matter) values...

Send them to church school and you can teach hatred on a nonstop basis.

Well, God could change things so that babies weren't born with ambiguous genitalia. He hasn't. And don't try and tell me the babies chose to be born that way via their freewill.

 As a private institution, it has the right to uphold whatever values it deems appropriate. This is not a good example of what I spoke about, now that I think a little more about it. Darn knee jerk responses...:sorry:

Are you refering to this?

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them." Genesis 1:27

Or maybe this?

"A woman must not wear men's clothing, nor a man wear women's clothing, for the Lord your God detests anyone who does this." Deuteronomy 22:5

Perhaps you could enlighten those among us who fail to see how having a third gender harms anyone.

No problems. And to be clear, I have no problem with people teaching what is right and wrong according to the bible... that would be bad for freedom of speach and religion. But similarily, other people have the right to disagree. :)

Totally agree. Sorry for the confusion.

How do you know that transgender is an "abomination in Gods eyes"? Just guessing what God might think? Any biblical references regarding transgender people?
Does God detest hermaphrodites too? After all, he must have created them that way right?
