  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well, I don't know when I will get to see the movie, my cousin is gone and my family is not Harry Potter fans. I hope it is soon, so I won't be the only HP fan lefted out. I prefer the books though, they are so much fun. I heard they lefted alot out of this movie. :(

Well according to one reviewer, he said that everything "important" that they left out of the movie, should have been left out for movie reasons, as in it makes sense as to why they would leave those things out. And a lot of people are saying that its the best HP movie yet. I'm gonna go see it an hour earlier now. I can't wait till 1:20. :D

they are telling part of the story so i think they bring in the parts that go with everything thats in the last movies and going to be in the next ones... there are story arcs that just arent in there... :/

I thnk was the best one yet!!!!!!!!

It was awesome.

This was my "review" on my site (beware of spoilers, but I don't know how to use that little thing):
I went to the 12:10am showing. I know, how disappointing that I was 10 minutes behind the first people to see it.

I feel like I just spent the last three hours with some of my closest friends. We shared *quite* a few laughs, we faced some difficult moments, and we've overcome some great victories.

The new director did exactly what I think the movies should do: show enough of the book plots to make a movie, but bring us into the world of our favorite characters.

Sure, as Valerie pointed out, some things were left out. No, S.P.E.W was not mentioned, nor was Winky. And while those are loveable parts of the book, they are not the main focus.

As everyone who is a Harry Potter fan should know, and I suspect those who aren't can guess, the books are where the real magic lies. The movies can only give us a glimpse into that life, that story.

How heart wrenching is it to see Neville watch, for probably the frst time, as a creature is cursed the same way his parents were?

Or how giddy do we feel when we see Hermione come down the stairs, while her handsome date, Viktor awaits?

Or the fear we encounter when Lord Voldemort rises again, only to be matched by Harry's courage?

And lets not forget Cedric's dad when he finds out his son is dead.

While I would have loved to become familiar with the odd blast-ended skrewts, I would rather the director leave them out of the book than short change some of the other emotional scenes.

But out of a 752 page book, I think the movie was just fine.

In fact, I wouldn't mind spending more time with my fictious friends.

:( We were going to see it at Midnight. but my daughter was invited to a Birthday event on Saturday which includes the movie. She still wanted to go last night but I think since it's so close she should see it with the birthday girl and the rest of her buddies so she can have the fun of reacting to it WITH them. We'll probably go see it together then sometime next week..

I saw it last night and it was good. I thought it moved a little too fast in the beginning and they left out soooooooooooo much of the book, so many other story lines. I will always like the books more than the movies, but it was good. Probably the best of the movies.

They fit a 734 page book into a 2.5 hour long movie. They had to leave stuff out. Winky and Dobby do not appear in the movie, nor is there mention of the dementor's kiss at the end.
