Hamsters called David

Hi I know that this sounds bizarre but there is someone that me and my friends know called David and his nickname is Hamster as apparently ( according to my friend) he has hamster teeth. I have now decided that I am going to get her a hamster for her birthday called David. So i was wondering if David was a common name for a hamster or not!

I had a cat called Dave, but our hamster was called Batty Boy...

Just thought it was funny - my boys kept calling each other that when they got into arguments, and so the poor hamster ended up Batty Boy!!

Hmm, I had a hamster called Graham... but David? I dunno... never heard of a hamster called David myself... but theres a 1st time for everything!

It sounds kind of mean...unless the human named David is OK with being called Hamster. If (human) David embraces the nickname, then I suppose (hamster) David would be a fine name though!
